I agree. You missed the point. There is technical-useful and there is TECHNICAL for its own sake. Complication does not often yield better results. We have instruments that, handled quite simply, do very sophisticated things if we allow them to. My little Fuji is just that sort of machine. I DO understand what it is doing. I appreciate what it is doing. And I am not so convinced of my own genius to think I can substantially improve on it. (Ie manual, raw, processing, stacking etc.) I have tinkered with all of these, and I have seen enough pedestrian results on this forum to convince me I am well served by my little XT-1.

Well said!!! I have a Fuji XT-10, Fuji X-30 and a Fuji X-Q2 and they are all as hard or as easy as anyone could want. I already know that they are smarter than me, most of the time.

No wonder that Fuji's the fastest growing camera brand in today's depressed market. Add the outstanding selection of excellent lenses and you have a winner. The GFX medium format offerings have the same excellent color and a growing selection of lenses, all in the same price range of some of the newer mirrorless offerings from Canon and Nikon and Sony.

Here we go again...everyone either shouts what they have and others at the same about what they don't have. Each of us is different with prob. different goals and are looking for prob. different results... You don't have to be married to one brand to take good photographs. Each brand offers features that maybe another brand doesn't... I for one am only a middle of the pack photog. but I have extensive Canon, Sony, Olympus and Sigma in the cabinet. Each was purchased at a time when the features it offered presented opportunities for whatever I was interested in at the time. Fuji is a great camera and it was a long and hard decision at the time to go mirrorless between Olympus and Fuji. I love all the new technology but If I choose to shoot all manual I can do that also.I guess like one post stated... " If you like your camera, thats all that matters ". I will say though I almost pushed the button on Fuji mainly because of the Gorgeous color tones...

Thanks for offering your perspective. In my mind, a wide variety of viewpoints makes for a more interesting discussion.

A large portion of UHH appears dedicated to talking about gear and/or accumulating gear. But those folks tend to congregate in main discussion forum, so if that's the only area you visit, I can understand your pov.

Most of the rest of UHH (including 30 volunteer-moderated sections) is comprised of folks who actually take photos and have owned their one or two cameras for more than a year

I play saxophone a little and spend some time on a forum dedicated to sax and sax music. Ninety percent of the conversation there is about gear and maybe ten percent about the music. Men and their toys.

I read all these posts about not getting the color right, or the exposure is always wrong or the photos are unsharp despite all sorts of stacking or processing, using high powered 36MPs and super tele's, RAW processed with high priced software, while my little XT1 gives me sharp well exposed colorful jpegs right out of the camera with no effort at all. No I cannot put a 600 mm zoom on it 'cause they don't make one for it, but my 230 delivers an equivalent 345, and it is only 4 inches long and weighs only a few ounces! And I have yet to see an excellent amateur result with a 600 anyhow. You can't handhold a lens like that and I am never going to drag around a tripod! I am convinced most camera buffs are overthinking and over purchasing and could do much more with less if it is the right "less". (Which my little old Fuji is for me.)

I have an XT-1 and an XT-2. I like the 1 perhaps even more than the 2. Smaller, simpler and it just knows what to do. Here, for instance is a shot on auto everything of the little plaza in my town. Shade and sun, subjects of all reflectance values, and Fuji just sorted it all out to the very best compromise of all possibilities and gave me this beautifully balanced little vignette of Americana with lovely colors, right out of the camera. And it does it every time. No it does not have mega megapixels, and I usually use the kit lens (this was the kit lens for this photo), but it delivers the exposure, the sharpness, the color every time. Yes i could improve this by cropping, it is the entire frame as is!

I thought the posts were getting a bit boring, so I thought it would be a good time to drop a rock in the puddle.

I’ve had Blazing Editions print 60 x 40” images on white aluminum taken with my Fuji XT-2, and from a viewing distance of four feet or more, they look as good as images taken with my Nikon D750 full frame. One of the Fuji images was shot with the “kit” 18-55mm lens. I eventually sold all my Nikon gear and now have the Fuji XT-3 along with most of Fuji’s prime lenses. I’ve kept the XT-2 as a back up and when shooting from a kayak. As a retired travel photographer, I couldn’t be happier with the smaller, lighter Fuji X system.

If you'd like to display that 60x40 image without having to stand back four feet (or more), run it through Topaz AI Gigapixel. On the trial version (before I bought it), I upsized an image to the maximum setting which resulted in 7' on the long side and 1.3 GB overall file size - with amazing detail.

My first camera was a Fujica ST801. What I'd give for a DSLR as simple as that.

Wow, the Fujica ST801! My first 'real' camera too. (not counting my previous Polaroid). Had a lot of fun with that machine. The good (?) old days of the non-digital darkroom.
