Boy you guys can sure ruin a good tomato sandwich. The best one I've ever had was with German Johnson tomatoes and Dukes mayonnaise between 2 slices of white bread, standing over the kitchen sink to collect the juice!! Yes, here in the south, it has to be Dukes.... And nothing but tomatoes. Who wants to ruin that good taste with all those other "expendables".

Hey Tomcat, you are missing out on one of life’s treasures! Go whole hog with the full-blown BLT.

I remember one of my dad's favorite treats were slices of fresh tomato and onion on a slice of bread, with lots of salt. And those were real onions, not sweet ones. I like this also but with sweet onions.

The only onion I call onion is from south GA, the real-deal Vidalia!!!

. . . was enjoyed for din-din tonight. That would be my fav meal, a BLT with my home grown dermaters! I would have posted a pix, but my puter went belly up couple wks ago, and new Mac hasn’t arrived yet. So just let visions dance through your cranial cavities of red ripe, home grown slices piled high with extra thick applewood smoked bacon, a leaf of crisp lettuce, all slathered in Mayo - - - mouth watering yet?

Sorry to put all y’all through this, but, man, was it ever delicio!!!

Try replacing the lettuce with some nice fresh basil, raises it to a whole new level (and hold the mayo).

That works also especially with fresh home grown tomatoes (still hold the mayo).
