No, Tom I've never done that. When I shoot macro I don't shoot at 1:1 for one reason and that's because of very, very shallow DOF. Learned from a very good macro shooter some years ago that many times it is better to stand back a little and crop later. I prefer having the entire insect in reasonably sharp focus if at all possible.
