I don’t know if you have any Harbor freight stores in your state they have one you can pull and many others you can carry https://www.harborfreight.com/

The only problem with the hard cases like Pelican and Zero Halliburton is they shout "Steal Me-there is something expensive inside". California outfit Think Tank makes great photo backpacks that are best for the rather heavy gear you list. Plus backpacks are so ubiquitous that they are less likely targets of thieves.

If your in an environment where there will be a lot of dings, I prefer the plastic cases over aluminum. Pelican cases are tough and waterproof. I use them with dividers for photography in rough situations like rafting and some handgun carrying with a foam insert. Same cases, different inserts. The Halliburton aluminum briefcases are beautiful and sturdy pieces, but they will dent and scuff. Makes me a little sad when that happens to a beautiful and expensive piece.

The Pelican site allows you to look at the dimensions of many different models. Good stuff!

I use the Pelicans when I need to ship the fear to remote places. But I would not want to walk around with it though.

I own a D7100 and a D750, along with SB-700 Speedlight. Looking for something to carry this gear along with Nikon’s Big 3 lenses. I have the 24-70mm f/2.8. The 70-200mm f/2.8 will be here this week, and I Know I will need the 14-24mm f/2.8 in the upcoming weeks. Gotten good comments often from UHH readers and need advice on the best value for the money in a tough, dependable, not terribly expensive case. Need it large enough to hold all my gear and still have a bit space for straps, hoods, etc. I’ve seen some pretty awesome gear. What would y’all say is the best current direction for cases if one is in the market for value for tough, dependable cases (not just the most expensive, please).

Could you clarify, please, whether these will be used for shipping, air travel to a destination, permanent storage, etc.? All of us face storage and travel challenges, and the intended usage could dictate the options.

Hello. Let me lay it out. I’m traveling across Georgia with friend running for U.S. Congress seat. Doing all his photography. And I’m definitely an amateur and kinda like it that way. It’s about the challenge and pride of accomplishment. So probably need the backpack. That was a novel idea I could get my head around; see, we’re traveling the road and that’s why the backpack. Also favor the idea of killing it in my new backpack. So, let’s say, “What’s the best backpack for the money to carry all my gear?”

Perfect for travel, storage and to leave in the trunk of the car during a shoot. Get a holdfast money maker two camera strap and a small think tank retrospective shoulder bag to hold your extra lens for "working" flexibility.

Check out SKB cases, they make cases similar to the Pelican and some model have interior dividers designed by Think Tank: http://www.skbcases.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4YyY2eC76gIVD9vACh3EgAbuEAAYASAAEgIvcvD_BwE

Pelican with the dividers for home storage. Set up to get in and out easily. On the road I use a back pack or the Domke journalists bag.

There are a number of good ones but I like Think Tank; they are built like a tank but comfortable, sectional with strong velcro dividers and the zippers are made to last but I highly recommend you find a dealer to try several makers out to find what suits you.

For the money, I'd have to recommend the ProMaster backpack I previously mentioned. It's rugged and durable and well padded and will easily hold two bodies and four lenses and accessories and you can even strap a travel tripod and or monopod to it. I've used mine numerous times for both urban walks and off the pavement use and it does a great job. It can be worn like a back pack or carried like luggage, which ever you prefer.

I have used a Pelican since 1985 for my underwater Nikon gear. It has been on numerous trips to some very desolate locations. I've seen my case thrown around and dropped and it is still in almost like new condition on the outside and looks like new on the inside. All the camera equipment that it has carried has never been damage in any way. The foam inside is also still in like new condition. I highly recommend this brand of camera case if you expect things to get banged around. It can take beating and still protect the contents.
