Apple Photos no longer displaying camera or lens description in “info” area

I’ve been using Apple Photos for years. I use iCloud for storage but do my editing with Adobe’s Photoshop and Lightroom. Photos on my iMac (OS) had always displayed my camera (Sony a7Rii) and the lens used until last August, about the time I updated the MacOS to Catalina. I’ve also updated to latest version available. Since that time, it does NOT give the camera used or lens, etc. It does show date and location and some settings. I use an iPad Pro also and Apple iOS doesn’t display info - so I downloaded an app, EXIF Viewer by Fluntro, several years ago, and it does show camera, lens and setting info??? So the metadata is there - which leads me to think it’s an Apple OS problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have searched the net with no good result, I’ve questioned Apple support and get the response that due to the virus they are short staffed - no explanation. Therefore, I’m trying Ugly Hedgehog which I’ve followed for years. Thanks for any help someone might offer - jerry

I should have capitalized Photos. Photos is the library/cataloguing application included in Apple's OS and iOS

All I can do to help you is to show you this screen capture I just took to see if I had the same problem. I don't. 2018 MacBookPro, current version of MacOSX.

This is where I get the info. I am running Mojave. If it isn’t on Catalina. Then I don’t think I’ll switch.

I'm running MAC OS 10.15.5 Catalina and it shows up on mine, camera, lens, ISO, f/number, shutter speed are all there. I don't use Adobe products though, maybe ir's Adobe that's messing up.

I found the information using the information icon and I have the latest OS so the information is there just a different way of getting it.

It works well in Catalina, at least on my computer.

Just checked my 2014 macbook pro with most uptodate software and don't have a problem. The only pics with no details are scans.

Not an Apple OS problem. Apple Photos "get info" shows all the data on my MacBook Pro.

Open an image, click the (i) top right of screen, you'll see everything is there. I have a 2019 mcbook pro with Catalina installed yesterday.

I have a MacBook Pro from 2016 and the info is there. However, it is not on my iPad Pro. I think it is the difference in operating systems between the laptop and tablet.
