What I saw

Took this with my Iphone, since my DSLR was not with me at the time. What I saw when I imported it into Lightroom was not was not close to what I saw with my two old eyes. With the help of Lightroom, I was able to reproduce what I saw. Hope you like!

I look at this photo you posted and am quite pleased with what I see. Nice work.

However I'm trying to understand what you wrote about the difference between what you saw...what the cameras able to reproduce... and what you posted.

I can't figure out if it's an indictment of the iPhone versus the DSLR. Or is it the possibility that a camera cannot absolutely reproduce what your eyes see. Or is it praise of Lightroom's ability to bridge the gap between a camera and the human eye.

I like the picture very much... but am completely confused by your text. Can you explain?

There may be a lot of answers given by viewers here. But but your explanation is the one that counts.

Thanks

Barry

Good question Barry
.
My point was simply that I feel that it is OK to transform a photo into what you saw/perceived.

Although I would have to admit that the iphone took a pretty good photo, and a processing program was
able elevate that photo to what was percieved

Let me know if that answer was satisfactory, and thanks for the reply!

Whatever your answer might have been would have been satisfactory. I simply saw many possible reasons for the way that you spoke about... that I was curious exactly what you meant. Perhaps I was reading too much into it!

You’ve been a member here for a long time, I see. You know all the different ways things are perceived at UHH.

Thanks for the clarification.

I love Baltimore. My daughter graduated Hopkins. Always remember the crabs at Bo Brooks after the graduation.

And coming down from Jersey for the 2nd Giants/Colts championship game! Our lousy seats were right next to Toots Shor. My Giants lost!
