Do you remember the Comic strip "Buzz Sawyer"? Buzz Sawyer was an Aeronautical Engineer/ U.S, Navy Test pilot back in the late 40s/ early 50s. I use to read it religiously in the Traverse City Record Eagle every day and it was how I determine my carriers path as early as the 7th grade, These are three of the aircraft he was suppose to have flown. Somehow, without my realizing it, the strip just disappeared.

Of course I remember, it's only my short term memory that's gone. I had bubble gum cards of those and so many more. Remember the "Flying Wing"

I remember seeing an actual Sea Dart on display at the Willow Grove NAS back when I was a kid.

Had a model of a Pogo Stick when I was kid. I always wondered what a ride it would be to land that thing backwards. Now days it would be a piece of cake with the computers doing the job.

Two Flying Wings, the prop pusher and the jet, neat stuff back then.

The Florida Air Museum in Lakeland has the two Convair aircraft on display outside the museum. Great indoor displays as well.

Biggest problem with a lot of these aircraft was that jet engines were not really powerful enough yet and politics The first flying wings were undercu mostly by politics and "It don't look like no airplane to me".

How about "BLACKHAWKS"?

Yep, remember both Buz and Blackhawks. Had quite a collection of Blackhawks comic books in the early to mid-50's. Terry and the Pirates was another comics favorite.

I can vividly remember driving past the Martin plant when I was still in Baltimore and passing a field with a whole bunch of the P6Ms parked after rejection by USN.
