#3 how much cropping and what lens did you use? The eye detail is awesome.

Not too bad considering. What camera/lens combo are you using. The fly appears dead for 2 reasons, it's position on the leaf (or stem) & the water on it's eye...The water on the eye shot more so as fly's keep their eyes free of water & debris...

You are right. The fly is dead. I'm learning how the different setting on the camera effect the picture. I chose to use a dead fly so that I could use the same picture setting and same subject with various camera settings and compare them.

Canon 50D with tamron 60mm macro lens

The dew on the eyes kinda says yr pretty well perfected the close up,,,great shots.
