Why ? The only reason I can see is that you'v e been out of the country for the last four years where there wasn't any form of information comming in or out....

nope been here been watching, listening and reading. I am very aware whether you choose to believe that or not. The last two elections were in the same boat as far as I am concerned. For some reason the people we need to run do not. In case you are wondering I love my country and have served it willingly once upon a time and would again if need be. The only problem is I am not smart enough to fix the things here that need it and we haven't seen anyone in quite a while that can that has run for the highest office in the land. Now that is what is really sad.

I find it humorous that you call both candidates "bad" when they are polar opposites. Then you say, "the people we need to run do not" yet give no examples.

You currently have a choice of: a corrupt, socialist, Muslim-loving, radical anti-capitalist, street preacher with no business experience at all who couldn't save his own family budget if he didn't have a huge flow of money from various questionable sources since he graduated from college to keep him afloat - or a squeaky clean, moral, family values based, self-made, wealthy businessman who has saved multiple dozens of failed businesses and turned them around to profitability, saved a failed and bankrupt state, and saved a failed and bankrupt Olympics from disaster. Our country's federal government is nothing more than a humungous business entity being driven into bankruptcy by crooked, self-indulgent, overpaid, politicians who run on promises they break on their first day in office so they can milk the government dry for personal gain.

Congress MUST be swept out and all the old geezer money makers who get rich from being in Washington must be put out to pasture while fresh fiscally responsible Conservatives replace them. Congress MUST then be led by a fiscally responsible businessman as President who knows what it takes to reverse disaster. Obama is NOT that businessman.

You are unfortunately watching, listening, reading, and accumulating mostly data from the loud and outspoken Liberal media. They are biased to suppress Constitutional freedoms, enhance Liberal agendas through their opinions and subtle manipulation that shouldn't be part of news reporting, and to promote progressive politics and "change" of everything our founding fathers laid out. Progressive change from the norm is always dangerous territory. Change is okay when done in moderation and carefully but Liberals want big change too fast. Our current Whitehouse resident has taken us deep into a lethal mine field of financial disaster which is going to require specialists in business and finance to get us out of. Not economists spouting fictional forecasts and potential outcomes based on unrealistic figures - but real hands-on business people who know what works and what doesn't from experience.

Mr. Likeable is swaggering around the country during his campaign preaching his ass off to save himself and his failed policies so he can drive us further down the road of disaster for another 4 years and further his Liberal and anti-capitalist agenda. Mr. Stiff and Unlikeable (according to the Liberal press at least) is touting a fiscally responsible plan of trimming fat from government in large chunks, reducing waste, and reversing the avalanche into catastrophe that we're riding down the slope right now while restoring our image in the eyes of the world.

Liberals don't want you to recognize our country is on a snowboard sliding down the side of Pikes Peak with an avalanche of debt closing in on us - destined for certain doom. Conservatives know it, see it, and acknowledge it. They're trying to get the dead heads, and those with their heads intentionally buried in the sand, to see what's really going on, veer us off onto a path of fiscal responsibility and avoid total disaster.

Nothing other than a 100% reversal of what's happening currently is going to save us. So whoever it is that you think are, "the people we need to run" would have to be more business savvy than Romney, and more financially intellectual than Ryan. That just isn't going to happen. They don't exist - except maybe someone like Steve Forbes who I hope is tapped to be in a Romney administration.

Nobody can buy Romney, Romney has no network of "make me rich when you get in office" cronies to feed government money and contracts to. He has no corrupt city, county, and state legislative cronies that go to jail on a regular basis or are being investigated for prison time. He doesn't have a background of hanging with terrorists and radicals. He wasn't raised by communist parents. He is just a filthy rich, patriotic, home-grown, hard working, Conservative and I'm glad he can't be bought or swayed by money. He has nothing to gain by being President other than proving he can fix the mess we're in and being recognized for doing so.

He occasionally makes blunders and boo-boo's just like the rest of us but he is a powerful leader type with a backbone of iron. Once his sights are set on a goal he moves heaven and earth to reach that goal whether people like him and think he's cute or not. His goal is strictly restoring American pride, America's strength, and America's financial solvency. I feel confident that with Romney, if you stand in the way of his reaching his stated goal, he will run you down, and I like that. If you work with him, you can do good together because he has a pre-formed plan that works not half baked ideologies that have been proven to not work throughout history.

Radical Liberals don't want the cooperation that Romney is proposing that would allow a Conservative President to succeed after a Liberal one failed. Liberals need the misery of the common man to keep themselves in power. Funny how they say Romney doesn't connect with the common man but Liberals are the ones using the common man's suffering for their own gain.

People say Romney isn't in touch with "the little people" and is an aloof rich person. That's an odd statement to describe a guy who is a Mormon programmed to be humble and helpful to one's fellowman at all times. An odd description of a guy who helps a friend dig a trench although he has abundant money to never even touch a hairbrush to his own head if he desired. Odd way to describe a guy who makes pancakes for the family every Saturday morning while his opponent is golfing on the most exotic courses of America and eating luxury breakfasts prepared by the worlds finest chefs. An odd description of a guy who gives $3 million a year to charities which certainly benefit "the little people" in some way - and even "the little people" internationally (my wife's sister's funeral was partially paid for by the Mormons operating in the Philippines although she was never a Mormon nor even attended their church once).

In conflict with your phrase, "The people we need to run" I don't see there being anybody more powerful as a choice during this country's worst time of need in our history. Romney has the potential to become the next Ronald Reagan in the history books if he can pull us back from the brink of destruction that we're teetering on with his business saving knowledge.

Reagan acted like an actor, a comedian, and a powerful speaker in public but he was also a financial and military power genius behind the scenes. Foreign changes didn't take place with empires crumbling before our eyes because Reagan convinced the U.N. that he was right - they occurred because Reagan's iron backbone scared the hell out of other countries including Russia and China. He could smile and shake hands with dignitaries while they knew there was a lethal patriotic American monster residing behind the smile ready to fire off a fictional Star Wars system to protect American freedom.

It is proven that the vast majority of women vote for who they like most. Polls were taken about Clinton and the result was that many women voted for him because they thought he was cute and they'd like to sleep with him. That's just plain wrong and pure stupidity. It's sad when ignorance overtakes the common sense and intelligence of the rest of women who vote as Conservatives with great concern for our country's welfare.

It is proven with Obama that the vast majority of blacks will vote for a black candidate even if he's not qualified to drive a taxi. That's just wrong too.

It is proven that gays, unions, pacifists, lawyers, anti-gunners and other special interests vote for Liberals who endorses their selfish causes or are at least tolerant of them. That's what special interest groups do.

A Liberal can only win the Presidency if he or she can unite enough special interest groups through creating anger, class warfare, and feelings of inequity then promise to fix everything although that promise is NEVER fulfilled. It's a control technique that gullible special interest groups never seem to recognize as it is taking place. Again and again they let themselves be merged into one giant Liberal movement of "change" that ocassionally can overcome the common sense, slow to change, capitalist fiscal responsibility of the Conservative masses. We'd already be in the condition Greece is in if capitalist Conservatism didn't rise up and bring the U.S. back repeatedly after Liberalism does its damage again and again.

This election has two blatant outcomes. It's not just a likeable candidate versus a less likeable candidate but a Liberal agenda versus a Conservative agenda.

We are going to have 4 more years of downsliding economy (it is being said that there are signs of a second recession beginning even now) and trillions more in debt, assuming Iran doesn't start WWIII over there by attacking Israel next year because we didn't help stop it.

Or we're going to have a reversal of the American downslide and a hopeful citizenry. We can have a rebounding of the economy as capitalist businesses feel secure and start to invest and hire again. People will start to spend on extras instead of hoarding for the bad times. Things can move toward pre-2008 levels and then start to grow beyond.

Bush didn't start this recession despite Obama's blame game and Clinton boasting about his balanced budgets. Clinton fails to mention he left office with a $6 trillion deficit even though the budget was balanced. A recession was coming for a long time before Bush. Recessions and rebounds occur all on their own in a free society but government either worsens the recession or helps the rebound. Obama's policies have worsened the recession he inherited and driven the country into more debt than all previous Presidents combined. Romney can instead help a rebound that has to first be triggered by the American people and businesses feeling secure to spend and breath new life into our capitalist society.

So your vote is either for continued failed policies, more spending, more debt, and further weakening defense - or a fiscally responsible turn around with dramatically different policies, increased defense with a strong stance against terrorism, and increased security concerning our future as a nation. A black or white (no pun intended) choice. That's who you can vote for...

The Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, is on the ballots for 47 states. There is a choice other than Obama or Romney.

Just pare it down to principle: do you want a government that grows bigger and bigger and regulates more and more of your life, meanwhile gobbling up more and more of your assets in taxes, or would you like at least an attempt at curbing that and giving you more individual freedom.

Yeah... as if he has a chance of getting 1% of the vote or even a single electoral vote. While I like a lot of what Libertarians stand for, a vote for any candidate except the two major parties is a vote thrown to the wind and lost with no possibility of changing anything.

A vote for Johnson is simply a vote for Obama, if you don't mind another 4 years of Obama then by all means send the message to the Republican party that you support the libertarian movement... I was certainly supporting Ron Paul during the primaries, but I will not cast a vote in the general election in protest, I will vote against this president and I really think that all libertarians should consider what effect their votes may have on the general, if you really object to Governor Romney as much as you do the president then by all means you should vote for Johnson, but if you see the government expansion and over regulation that a second term for the president would mean for us and our economy as a bad thing that will take years to reverse.... then don't waste your vote in protest...

You need to do some serious research. After reading this, I do not think you have any idea who Mitt Romney is. He just changed his position on illegal immigrants to try and secure Hispanic votes. He has changed his platform many times for the sole purpose of gaining public favor rather than sticking to any ideals. He was a democrat for Massachusetts, hated by republicans there because he failed them. Your definition of a conservative is frightening to this conservative. Claiming Mitt is conservative is like saying Maxine Waters is a reserved pacifistic. Mitt is a politician out for his own ends. His record speaks for itself.

I think the press choses our choices by how they cover the news.

Yeah... as if he has a chance of getting 1% of the vote or even a single electoral vote. While I like a lot of what Libertarians stand for, a vote for any candidate except the two major parties is a vote thrown to the wind and lost with no possibility of changing anything.

Then you are saying the American political system is doomed to no more than 2 parties. The only way to create a viable 3rd party is to have people show support by voting.

You have to remember that Romney was a governor in a predominantly Democrat state. There's no way he could govern on pure conservatism. There was the state legislature to work with; so in that perspective, he did an outstanding job. And, true, he never was as conservative as, say, the Tea Party.

Now that is what is really sad.
quote=donrent GeneB sez: " I do not know ye... (show quote)

Gosh you make it sound so simple - like its really so black and white.
Vote for the guy white guy who best represents the monied interests in our country - those guy who do in fact want to keep everything the same cuz it's good for them.....or vote for that black guy who is a everything white america is not.

Doc, your outlook becomes more simplistic day by day. Now it is down to simply vote black or vote white? Are you a racist Doc?

He never was as conservative as ANY of the others running for the republican ticket either. We already lost.
