I'm a "Photo Correspondent" for our local newspaper. My editor asked me to cover a protest in the middle of town this morning. I was unaware that it was a group of Doctors and Nurses from our hospital. "White Coats for Black Lives". Glad I went. Everyone took a knee for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. Amazing how long that really is! I'm glad I went. Protest can be peaceful.
How appropriate that the photos have been manipulated.

Manipulated how so? Those are almost straight exports from LR. He did almost nothing to those except open them in LR and output JPEGs. JPEGs from the camera would be more manipulated. Here's one of the EXIF processing dumps -- look at all that manipulation:
I admit it! Lighting was pretty harsh, and some folks preferred the shade. I know I shouldn't have done it, but I used the Raw Camera Filter...OHHH, the shame!!!
Well, in all fairness, the building --the hospital?-- isn't quite plumb in #'s 3 and 5, so a bit of manipulation does seem to be in order.
Otherwise, Good On You!
<edit:> And Good On Them, too.

I suspect the comment was elicited more by the content of your images. You did a fine job and the photos are very gratifying to see -- thanks. Here in St. Louis I was hoping to get some shots of burning police cars (I work in Ferguson), but they've gone an elected a black woman as mayor and the protests are going smoothly there too.

" but they've gone an elected a black " sounds a bit ill worded . Just who are "they" ? Wow .
You've got the golden glow, but the "heroic factor" is hard with masks and all. Check out the former Soviet Union Posters and Photos of the post War years, you can up your game. This one is pretty good too.

Ferguson MO -- the town. It was said sarcastically.

Thanks, Joe. I was going to bed and see if it made any sense tomorrow.

Don't regret posting! For some people, seeing the truth hurts and they have to attempt to put it down and discredit it. They can't accept that the REAL Americans support this.

These are nice captures. As for the lighting I understand it can be harsh. Sometimes poor lighting can take away the image. I feel that post processing has its place in today’s digital photography. I use a Canon 5D Mark IV. I have a hard time producing a bad photograph. I know;I have tried. I rarely use flash because of the harshness it renders.
Your work is an excellent set!
Happy Shooting!
