Happy Frisbee

Here we see a young lady and her boyfriend (who is out of sight in this set) playing frisbee. It is a happy day and I captured her on PlusX as usual 40 years ago. Rescanned at 2400 lines per inch and this time I just left it intact with all of its four decades ago imperfections. I snapped a dozen or so photos of them. The last of this trio here was an especially "happy" one. Somehow the lass and I reconnected and I gave to her a very large print for her to give to her boyfriend as a birthday present. Technical quality here is terrible, that's not the point this time around. Download to see what I mean! Content is the object here. Full frame, hardly cropped to get rid of frame edge stuff. Enjoy!

Especially the last one with her mouth agape.

Yes indeed that last one was the "fun" one and she got a 16 by 20 for her boyfriend, suitably cropped. These images are essentially full-frame. If you click on a "Download" button and then the"+" icon you can see that it was, after 40-ish years, hopeless to try to fix the images. So I didn't waste my time. Fun set, though!

You have a knack for also finding perfect backgrounds for your subjects.

A good Photoshopper could click this up like it was shot yesterday on digital.

Cool to look at when you remember this was likely taken with an old SLR with a manual focus lens (35mm, 50mm?).

Mic925: You nailed it! I think that the current cameras with their high level of automation allow artists to produce some amazing images. Beginning photographers can then use the currently-available software to further fine-tune the camera's output and the result can be "wow." My film has deteriorated somewhat over the years too. Some of this stuff was more carefully composed and/or more carefully exposed than others. Commonly the subjects and I were more into having fun than into "doing pictures."

And you could colorize it while you were at it.

What would be the point of trying to make film look like digital? Digital is great for pros where time is money but for this? I don’t see the point.
