This is the last installment of Machu Picchu. As you can see I included a house for common people and one for a higher range in the Inca society. You can appreciate the perfection of the last building. In the photo number 4 if you download it you can see the Hiram Bingham road making the zig-zag through the montain. This road drive from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Although the stonework is most amazing isn't it a shame that they removed all the timber?

Glad I caught all the installments in this series, Jorge. I enjoyed the images and learned a lot, too.

Thanks Fotoartist and Cameraf4. Referent to the timber it was burned by Hiram Bingham to clean as quick as possible the place.

So I should presume that, had I visited when it was inhabited, then the house roofs would have looked like picture #2 in your Machu Picchu2?

Yes, but the roof of picture #2 are made recently because that houses are for the park keepers.

Still, must have been a beautiful sight when Bingham arrived. Bloody shame he burned the place down.
