But the Ruggards from B&H go from 199 up and regularly there are exceptional discounts on them. They'll maintain RH at an ideal level for camera gear at ambient temps of 35 deg C RH 97%.
35 degrees C is too high for comfort.
No real difference in the brands except perhaps price.
The Ruggards go on sale three or four times a year...to a very fair price.
I have the 80L cabinet...works perfectly. Keeps the gear clean as well...isolated... a side perk.
They ...work.
Thank you all for your perspectives. I really appreciate your thoughts, and the time you took to “SPLAIN “. .......RJM
The easiest way to accomplish your task is to go to Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop And buy a gunsave dehumidifier. A lot less expensive and it does the trick.

In October last year I purchased from Lazada an Andbon AB-30C Dry Cabinet Box with digital temperature and humidity display. It is priced at about $70 plus shipping for the 30L size, but larger capacities are available. It uses 110-220 AC at 3.5W, and has been holding the recommended 40% RH on a continuous basis, with interior temperature of 76 F. The temperature in my apartment is 74 F + or – 1 degree (without air or heat), year around, but the ambient RH here never drops below 70%, and usually is higher. The 30 L size accommodates my Canon 70D and G16, together with Canon lenses 70-200, 18-135, 10-18 and 50 mm (plus a few smaller items). I have been quite pleased with my purchase and consider it very cheap insurance for my equipment.

I too use an Andbon. Lived for a while in Seychelles, 90% humidity and 30 degrees C, I lost 2 lenses to fungus. I also noted the fogging issue when taking them out of an airconditioned environment. When posted to Pakistan, again very high humidity in monsoon season, i bought a dehumidified cabinet. Had no fungus troubles since. Probably not really necessary now back in UK, but I feel a lot happier having the photo glass in the cabinet. I wouldn't worry about electronics, most electronic items are obsolete by the time they'd be affected, but good lenses are for life.
I have the Ruggard 80L cabinet which I have three camera bodies and 13 lenses stored in it. So far no problem

Whilst fogging of the camera is the norm when coming from an ACd space into a warm humid outside I have never experienced fogging of the camera/lens coming from a dehumidifier cabinet (Ruggard type) into a room that is often around 30 deg C with an RH in the high 90s.
You are correct and helpful to point this out. I was carelessly equating two different situations. The fogging happens not due to moving from lower to higher humidity alone but because the camera is cold when moving to a warm and humid environment. If there is no temp difference then fogging won't happen - all other things being equal. Thanks for the prompt.

I keep my camera equipment in our basement which can get quite humid. So I bought a Ruggard and keep humidity around 35%, So far no problems. A good way to reduce worry!
I have the Ruggard 120L. I got it on sale from B&H on Nov 1, 2018.
It usually sells for $399, but I got it on sale for $229.95. I think B&H has them on sale in October.
I really like the dry box. I'ts totally quiet, keeps the humidity at 41-42%.
It has 5 slide-out shelves and an interior light.
I keep all my lenses in it, and I have a lot of lenses.
If the unit dehumidifies by using an A/C unit that's OK but I know some heat the air up to reduce the relative humidity. I don't want that.

thinking of purchasing one of these for day to day storage of my cameras and lenses. please advise. Which one might be better, and WHY "RUGGARD or SIRUI? I would appreciate any input, sooner than LATER. sales end tomorrow night. BOB P.S. is the concept laudible and legitimate????
Didn’t we go over this like yesterday I believe.
In March I bought the Ruggard Electronic Dry cabinet (120 L) when it went on sale at B&H for $249.00. We had just moved to Southern California and now live less than a mile from the ocean. As one can imagine, between the high humidity and salty air, I needed to protect my equipment ($$$$$). Beside keeping the equipment in a RH of 42%, it is a nice cabinet to store it. It is well built; the glass door has a magnetic seal to keep the dust away. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
I keep all of my equipment in a walk-in closet. I leave the closet door open to the A/C air gets in.
Also check some "gun" boards for suggestions.
Some of their display cases are gasket sealed. There are dehumidifier and heater options.
One cheap bat rasterd uses drywall panels. Dry it out in an oven overnight, replace the last one.
You can keep doing this once a month or so, and they absorb a lot of water.
I still have my Graflex Xl ( purchased in the late 1960'S ) have no humidity issues.
Have 2 lens 80 MM Zeiss Planar & 180mm Rhodenstock Rotelar - no fungus issues!
Also Have a Pentax Me Super from the 1980's - no issue.
Not worried about my Pentax K-1 MarkII since it is sealed better than my two other cameras.
