I don't know what all the hoopla is about. Photographers have been shooting nudes since the day after the camera was invented. Perhaps we can all meet midway and simply lable the post as "nude content". Then you can not click on it or click on it depending on whatever your internal compas calls for.

To the OP, if you are still monitoring this thread. Please don't take a college-level drawing class at a state university - you will be shocked, as the students draw live, nude models, both male and female. Please don't visit major art museums - you will not be happy, as there are statues, paintings and drawings of nude people, both male and female. Please don't browse through the art sections of a public library - you will not be happy.

I hope you find the place you are looking for.

What I am confused about is why they took my thread down and since, I have seen alot of semi nude models posted and even a nude posting (not showing any body parts of course) like mine and in my opinion, tastefully done. Why is that? Is the Admin biased and only apply the rules to certain people?

I agree the new hottie in a bikini and then a repost of more hottie in a bikini. The girl was like 16, really and to even post hottie in a bikini when she's 16. Then yes I saw the near breast and pubic hair one for the pro model. Val yours was a non naked nude so to speak. Nothing to see but tasteful posing and awesome lighting. Instead of what looks like a cheap car ad for a mens magazine

Val, your shot was probably one of the best I've seen posted here.
And if we ever end up with a nudes section, I'll be sure to contact you and ask you to post it again. And I hope you'll agree to do so.

But for now, a simple rule -- that doesn't always work, but at least can be used as a rough guide -- is this: if it can be seen on the beach (and wouldn't cause a public scene), then it's OK to post it here.

Ok, I get the rules but if mine was removed because it violated the rules, why wasn't this removed, notice the black and white is a nude. I just want an explanation that's all. http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-720-1.html

And the girl further down in a thong, is that NOT semi nude?

Ok. I am not asking you to remove them because they are not offensive to me and I am not gonna whine like a baby because mine were removed. I just wanted to know. Thanks for the explanation!

As someone trying to learn about lighting, poses and all things photography, I don't think I should have to wade thru comments about a models "features" (this goes for both the comments that were made that were vulgar in nature and those that were made that were just catty).
This is a very good point - I'm a member of several other photo forums that do have areas for glamour/nude/boudoir shots, and it's extremely frowned up on to make comments about a model's physical attributes. Comment about lighting, pose, composition, all you want but anything about physicality that does not enter into the shot itself is jumped on very quickly.

Not to mention the fact that the model might read these things and not appreciate it.

By the way, Val, I loved your photo. I will have to pick your brain sometime as to your lighting, etc. My daughter is a working model. She has to pay a lot for a photo shoot to make a new comp card. Her agents want new comp cards every 8 months or so. Expensive, so I'm trying my hand at photographing her. I'd love critiques on my photos and will soon share them. Cheryl

I don't have an issue with the photos, what I have an issue with is some of the comments from the "grown" men on the forum. Comment on the photo, lighting, etc there is no need for comments on her physical qualities.

It can get a little uncomfortalbe trying to wade thru the garbage to see if there is anything to learn photography wise.

My point exactly. I wonder what their wives would have to say about their lewed comments. I yor wife would find the banter distasteful so would many other self respecting women.

If your not proud enough to show your loved ones your comments, dont show others wives.

The offending poster realised it was "Racy" he even stated it was suprising that the moderator had not pulled it down.

Not sure of what post your talking about, But I saw a Portrait of a Black Women with almost her whole breast hanging out and her pants unzipped to the pubes, today. Wish I had somehow notified Admin. about it. I can't find it now. Not what I'm here for either. Photography and Art are a Very Fine Line. Not sure how Fine the rules are written, in this forum.. Maybe a compliant to Admin. is the way to get point across.

I think I read upon registereing in rules about "poor" judgement should be reported to administration. They will intervene and take action. Maybe that's where photo went. Into trash! I did not see it.

To Haze and the other perverts

My wife is a member (for over 9 months) of this web site and there are now at least 14 lady members who have decided to quit ugly hedgehog because of your intransegent and seemingly shameless attempt to try and conert this web site into a poor mans version of a backstreet pornographic version of a cheap thrill magazine for perverts at the expense of the feelings of the lady members.

Next I suppose will be full naked ladies.

You are trashing this site at the expense of your own self glorification. My wife and I are both 27 years old and regret that you have not yet grown up.

I for one think it's very RUDE of you to call someone a pervert. You may be a sexually repressed person yourself to have such a violent and seemingly unhealthy reaction to a simple picture of a woman in a bathing suit. Here's a tip - stay out of your local art museum.

and please stay off of Bourbon St. Don't go to any concerts on the beach, or to any of the Souther parts of Europe. the list could go on and on.
