My guess, too.
I don't think so, but I suppose it's possible. Thanks.
This bird has been around for years causing much confusion. The plumage hasn't changed. It isn't a Little Blue Heron. Final conclusion by most is that it's a hybrid.

Ok, I didn't know that. But I do know that there is more than one of them. There are at least three. Maybe siblings?

I only know of one.
I have seen and photographed two together and then one alone on the other end of the drive about an hour afterward. I'm not positive it was a third one but circumstances suggest that it was.
The colors truly resemble a juvenile Little Blue. The size is too small to be a Great Blue. The head plumes resemble a Snowy and they don’t show but I believe it has at least some yellow on the feet. I have resisted the idea but I tend to suspect it may be a hybrid.

Hi, Carol. I just got some photos of one at a different wildlife drive. Not very good, he was a long ways away and flying but good enough to say that there is no yellow on the feet. Legs are either grey or greenish grey. Looked like an adult to me. If they are hybrids they must be second or more generation because they are widely separated. This one is at a Lake County wildlife area about 70 miles from Black Point. I don't want to say more than that right now. I'm going back to try for some better photos.
I will post these but they are pretty poor quality photos that I wouldn't normally post.
I think they are too big to be a Snowy or a Little Blue. There is another smallish white Egret called a Little Egret very similar to a Snowy with plumes that resemble our Hybrid(?) more than the Snowy does. I've got the National Geographic Bird Guide that has info on the Little Egret.

Hi, Carol. I just got some photos of one at a diff... (

A number of people have posted shots on Facebook from Black Point. It looks like this one but does have some degree of yellow on the feet. I got pictures recently but I’m convinced mine were of a juvenile Little Blue (no head plumes).
