After subbing the past 4 days at the high school, I finally had a couple of hours to hang out along the river. Wish I had a better lens. There were many photo ops, but I guess you make due with the equipment you have.

Gosh Bazsik, I wish I had a lens as good as yours. Were you on the American River above Folsom?
These are all fantastic images.

Great shots! I'm glad that you were shooting with a CAMERA!! One of my favorite spots had a nice young Buck that I would sit and wait for in order to get photos. Unfortunately a hunter also knew he was there and now my little Buck is in a freezer! It was a sad day when I saw the photo of my little guy strung up!

I don't know. How often would you like to? Not really the forum for it here. I am sure there are sights out there if you are interested. Maybe someone else can help you out.

Rossmore Bar in Rancho Cordova. If you take the Rossmore Bar entrance gate to the park. I have been spotting them early in the morning and the last hour before sunset. The whole American River Parkway has spots where you can spot deer though. This is a good time of the year, as the male have their antlers.

Welcome to the forum. These are a variety of Mule deer. They are commonly referred to as Blacktail deer. They are native to California where I live. There are much larger varieties in the Rockies and even in the Sierra Nevada East of where I live.
