Greetings all, been following this group and have learned quite a bit from ya'll in the last eight months. I have decided to take the plunge join.
Believe it or not I am having a bad experience trying to get a product from Canon USA. Has anybody here used Fenway Photo, or Willoughby's Photo Emporium. I am thinking of using them as both have best prices for the product I am looking at.
Suggest you do a review search on each, then decide if you want to do business with them, as always if it sounds too good, then...
Oops, forgot. Welcome to the forum
Thanks, that's why I'm asking the experts...I've gone with B&H in past both sites are listing product for 300.00 less. Because of this forum I went to Canon USA first.

Welcome to UHH Rich. What Canon camera are you looking at on Fenway Photo and Willoughby's? The one thing I noticed looking at a couple different Canon cameras on those two websites was that in the "whats included in the box", it did not say "Canon 1 year warranty" as it did on Adorama or B&H websites, which would lead me to believe that they are selling imported "grey market" cameras and not USA versions which would give you the one year warranty here in the States.
Basically, the cameras are the same cameras manufactured in the same plant, just destined for sale in a different market other than the USA, and may include different items than a camera destined for the USA. From what I have read and understand to be the case, what that would mean to you is if something happened to the camera that would normally be a warranty repair and you sent it to Canon USA, they would not repair it under warranty... they would charge you to fix it. Someone else might have more knowledge of that than me, so maybe they will chime in if what I said is not totally accurate or true.
The following is from the Canon USA website, which may shed some more light on the matter.

Welcome to UHH. I don't know about the stores you mentioned, I'm an Adorama & B&H man. Generally if a price seems too good to be true, it is.
The info you gave was spot on. Furthering my research as I was leary to why these sites were so much less. They were international versions and as you said would not be covered by warranty. So I spent the money up front and will more than likely be happier in the long run. I went with B&H as I have dealt with them in past and quite pleased. I should be getting my Canon 7Dll next Tuesday. Thanks for your info and time.
Thanks for your info and time. I'm getting 7Dll from B&H. You were spot on ...the other sites had international models and wouldn't be covered by warranty. Dealt with B&H before and am pleased with them.
Welcome to the HOG!
for my money I usually stick with B&H, YMMV
Welcome to the Hog, Rich, enjoy.
