Back in the 74-75 school I taught basic photography for that one year. The local camera store gave us a lot of support and they sponsored the traveling Kodak Slide/Film show at a local college - it was great!

It was a great medium. I was a producer in a corporate creative services department. We made dozens of shows 1979-1987. I moved up in the company, but never quite got away from my AV roles.

One highlight of that job was going to the 1983 Association for Multi-Image convention in Orlando. I saw 123 shows in six days. Visine was sold out at the nearest drugstore...

Another was when one of my shows drove an auditorium full of high school students into a screaming mass of pants wetters as they saw several hundred slides of themselves set to loud music.

We had spent a Friday there, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM burning 40 rolls of Ektachrome 400. That edited down to a three screen, nine projector show with 240 slides per screen...

We did it to prove the effectiveness of the medium to some management skeptics.

We were promoting yearbook sales that day. The principal went ballistic, but called to apologize a week later, when 91% of the students ordered yearbooks. Only 64% bought them the previous year! Our bean counters shut up!

Thanks for the information.

I am about to disassemble a 2013 MacPro to upgrade the processor (OWC 10 Core) and was wondering if vacuuming any dust would possibly cause static issues. Like portable Dyson with a short nozzle with a brush on the end. Is there a special vacuum for cleaning electronic devices?

What is the difference between DDR2 and DDR3. Are they interchangeable? I have an older DELL Studio XPS 435 MT. I'm pretty sure it has DDR2. I recently saw DDR3 RAM on Facebook Marketplace for a really good price. My DDR2 RAM 10600, 1.5v, 9-9-9-24. The advertised RAM has the very same. Just wondering if it would work. PS . . I would be adding RAM and not replacing. Thanks

Crucial will scan your computer for free and tell you exactly what you need and what your options are. Voice of experience note: If you ever plan to try any Topaz products, you will require a lot of ram. https://www.crucial.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2PP1BRCiARIsAEqv-pRzeEIEFYmTj65IP4El-kvtXe-78hGrsFGqhk5liJyCeIqba8DY71gaAl6AEALw_wcB&cm_mmc=google-_-us-_-brand-_-null&ef_id=Cj0KCQjw2PP1BRCiARIsAEqv-pRzeEIEFYmTj65IP4El-kvtXe-78hGrsFGqhk5liJyCeIqba8DY71gaAl6AEALw_wcB:G:s

I use the crevice tool in my household vacuum.

GROUND your computer, and yourself (use a grounding wrist strap), and static should not be an issue.

Thanks, will try that! I do have a grounding wrist strap I use to install RAM and SSD's so that will be helpful!

In my experience there is no DDR2 10600 ram, 10600 is PC3 or DDR3.

The type and amount are determined entirely by the motherboard. Your owner's manual will tell you the limits.

I doubt very much that you have DDR2 ram. Those specs you posted sound more like DDR3.

Aha! I ran a couple of diagnostic programs and those who said it sounded like I have DDR3 are absolutely correct. I can't thank everyone enough for the advice and links. UHH and members are the best!
