Rose, I don't know the "rules", but does "open carry" allow for people to carry rifles and/or "assault weapons" (loose term) in public places like parks, stores, restaurants, public buildings?

When I lived in Washington visitors to the Smithsonian and many public buildings were not permitted to bring firearms into the buildings even though they were public spaces.

Here in Georgia, you have to have a CCW to be able to open carry

Public places are off-limits IF THEY HAVE a sign saying "No Firearms" of course don't try to get in a police station or a federal building with one.

If I am wrong on this please feel free to let me know.

While I do not disagree with your assessment of these people carrying the rifles I have to ask how you know they are automatic weapons. I have been into firearms of all types since I was about 10 years old and I can't tell. Can you see the selector switches and I am not able to do so?

I know you are not anti gun but one of the problems with most anti gun people is they don't know what they are talking about when it comes to firearms. I am not accusing you of not knowing necessarily but your comment is read by others who will go along with what you say. That lie will be carried on Liberal lips forever.

it doesn't matter if they a semi or full auto, guns are unnecessary at a political rally in America.

Don't you think it is totally stupid to show up at a potential gunfight without ammo?

there will only be a gunfight if they start it.

Like I said before my Browning Auto 5 is going to shoot down a F-35, right. To a lot of people seeing people walk around with "black guns" is very up setting. The gun carry person is out to put fear in other people. Well fear is a two way street. What if the other side show up carry guns, than what?

If it is upsetting better tell them to start to understand life and be afraid of those who don't care much about someone else life

He told you that he's trying to put fear in someone, other than exercising his giving right?

I say it is right but like Blurry said..Unadvisable

Jesus John, there are people all over the world who are more than ready to shoot, stab, set on fire, drown, hang and beat to death other people. Look around and I am quite sure you find the same people in Canada. I can't justify nor explain the killing of one person by another. Yet you in your Liberal ignorance are trying to equate a murder of this security guard with a great number of Conservative peaceful demonstrators who happen to be carrying legal firearms. WTF are you thinking? Are you trying to make a point here. It ain't working my friend.

As usual you misrepresent what Trump said about, good people on both sides. Of course there are bad people on both sides too. But my point made with facts is that there are more bad people on the Liberal side than on the Conservative side. Do you recall the 1968 Republican riots in Chicago? Nope, neither do I nor does anyone else. They were the Democratic riots in Chicago.

Perhaps you could make a similar point by telling us that every one of the demonstrators drove to the protest area in a vehicle and THEN, to really make the point more real, show us a clipping of a drunk driver three states away who killed a toddler. THAT would be about the exact same type of point as you just tried to portray. Please John get a F'n life. You need one.

Dennis I was in Chicago when the so call "Democratic Riots" happen, it was a COP RIOTS. I remember when Daley's Cossacks came into Grant Park and saw for no reason cops kicking people in the head and using their night sicks to hit people who were on the ground and pulling people by hair going across the street.

I lived in an area where a lot of people carried openly and it was no big deal. Its still that way in a lot of rural places.

It depends on who you are, for many it can be very unsettling to see people walking around with firearms slung over their shoulders or hanging off of their hips, it makes one think that this person is possibly a bit off kilter because most likely they are doing so for the effect their display has on others.

I am a staunch defender of the second but very comfortable with open carry. Fine with concealed but not open.

No John but I AM bringing up the pretty much FACT that in 99.9% of demonstrations by Conservatives there is no arson, looting, and violent riots that take place. You can like it or not but that is FACT. It is Liberals who when they protest generally bring violence and all of the above with them, not Conservatives.

Once again my friend it sucks to be YOU.

Dennis

Just curious if you noticed just how alone you seem to be in your opinion on this?

The handguns were more open carry. Much easier. No one thought anything of it and ‘gunfights’ didn’t break out. These places are small town America where people seem to have more common sense.
