I've been using my treadmill each morning after getting up. My max is 3.5 - 3.7 mph. Four or above
I tend to get out of breath because of a heart murmur.

Mate! If you can do 50; you can do 300. 6 sets of 50 with a few minutes
rest between sets and gradually reduce the rest time

I use an Elliptical - programmed for various resistance settings throughout the program of 45 minutes. 2 miles equivalent and 165 calories burned. Accomplishes my cardio rehab requirements of walking and bike riding for 20 min's each. It gets my heart rate up to 80% - 90% of max.
You can calculate your maximum heart rate by subtracting your age from 220. For example, if you're 45 years old, subtract 45 from 220 to get a maximum heart rate of 175. This is the average maximum number of times your heart should beat per minute during exercise.

This is my exercise bike... I bought it 16 years ago, and still use it a couple of times a week.

Nothing beats the real thing...Having said that, if I had to suffer Massachusetts winters
I'd be using a rowing machine.

Yep, best exercise there is! Cat out, cat in, dog out, dog in X 10. And with the cat, it goes on during the night also, especially in cold weather.

I have an 18 speed that I like to ride in the summer.

Always walked 2 or 3 miles in the morning and I’ve added another walk in the afternoon with trips to the gym 3 days a week for some core stuff. Of course the gym is no longer an option. I’d also added swimming and was up to half a mile when the gym closed. (“Swimming” is the word I use to describe making my way across the pool.) I also keep the beer in the fridge in the basement so when relaxing in the evening I have to climb the stairs for a refill😊

I've been weight training for a couple of years now...it's the fountain of youth for old people. Nothing else puts your hormones in order, burns fat, and makes you able to do more easier and better.

👍 Ditto, but actually for quite a number of years. I have a Weider home gym. Can do most exercises without putting any strain on my back. Plus, daily dog walks (we're allowed) with wrist and ankle weights on. Gotta keep active. Yes, pain is a companion due to back issues. Right leg messed up, sciatica/radiculopathy, ankle trashed from a fracture 5yrs ago, but I just push regardless.

Set your goal higher, say 100. Then every one extra is a victory. Mind over matter...

Oh wow, I'd settle for the twenty.
A couple years ago I plateaued on the weight machines at the "Y" mostly because my skeletal frame started complaining. Figured backing off was best before something gave way.

Anything is better than nothing. Listen to your body and keep them bones quiet. Just stay within your limits but keep at it.

When the urge to exercise comes, I start by flexing my left elbow, using a properly filled Martini glass for resistance. This usually overcome the urge.

Same here. Also do curls with 12oz Guinness in between fooling with the dogs.

Favorite exercises as we shelter in place?
I was given a foot/hand cycle machine that uses a magnetic brake to apply resistance. A setting for the hand/shoulder workout at 50% the resistance scale will get my heart rate up to almost double its resting rate and setting it at 90% of the scale for foot/leg exercises will get my heart rate up to a little over double the resting rate. (The easy to accomplish workouts are 15 minutes each.)

Great way to pass some time and benefit as well. I do a 1 km walk every morning. Then coffee with my wife. Then down to the basement. 150 sit ups (3x50), 60 bench presses (40 lbs), 5 minutes on bike, 90 curls 40 lbs and then some shoulder/arms with stretch band. Then to the shower. About 45 minutes a day. Stay well all stay safe. Stay home.

Ok, came up with 140. Since my HR doesn’t get close to that looked up “max exercising heart rate” and found that it should be 55% to 85% of the calculated max rate. So that would be 77 bpm to 119 bpm for me. Therefore since the “arm” cranking gets my hr to 81 and my “leg” cranking gets it to 111 I’m within the proper range. It’s resting bpm is most often in the mid 50s the Apple Watch usually says 53.
Thank you for the comments; they made me think about if I was doing this correctly or not. (In a couple weeks I can slack off a little - my calculated hr will then be 139.)

I find those heart rate zones are merely a generalization. Don’t be married to it. That old recommendation of 220 beats per minute minus your age (220-71) would make my max 149 and 70-80% (cardio) 104-119 bpm but routinely on a two hour mountain bike ride I average 140+ and max 175-180 on some climbs. Genes, fitness, age, sleep, diet, health all factor in. Key is regardless of age JUST KEEP MOVING!

I’m living through this time with a herniated disc that causes shooting pains down my left lag. No exercise (or sitting or sleeping) here. The prescription drugs help some, but not 100%. Getting medical treatment during a pandemic is a slow process, but it moves along. I have a virtual meeting with a spine specialist this morning, so maybe we can get this taken care of.

Photography and music take my mind off of the pain, both in my back and on the TV.

Sorry to hear about your spine problems. I know what you are going through. I was having a lot of problems with my groin area and my back. General surgeon said I have 2 hernias, but he can't fix them until I talk to a spine surgeon. He said after images and testing I have 5 bad discs and 3 of them are herniated. He sent me to physical therapy, and I have to admit, this time the therapy really helped my back; however ever since the physical therapy me hamstrings in both legs feel like someone is sticking a knife in each one. They constantly hurt, whether getting up from a chair, getting out of bed, walking or anything. I am now wearing lidocane patches on the back side of both legs, which helps a little. Don't know where I'm going from here. I wish you good luck with your situation.
