I have a Canon 60D which has served me extremely well and is now about 7 years old. I have a problem in that when I connect it via cable to a television set or to my computer, I cannot get the images to playback.
I have both units switched off prior to connecting them and then turn them on but it does not work and nor does any combination of one off, one on etc get it to function. The only way I can get to view my images is to use either a card reader into the computer or by entering the card directly into the Television slot.
I would be very grateful if anyone had any idea as to what the reason could be. It might of course be an internal fault that requires professional servicing.
Other than this the camera works well.
Thank you

Thanks very much and I should have mentioned that the original cable is a little frayed hence I did purchase a fresh HDMI cable but still it would not work.

Can we presume:
1- It used to work with the old cable
2- You are selecting the correct HDMI port on the TV
3- The process you are using now, used to work and now doesn't?
4- You are using the same TV as in the past?
5- The HDMI port on the TV works with another signal source such as another camera or perhaps cable box?
Another shot in the dark - settings in the camera's menu regarding Playback.

I believe that I have checked virtually everything mentioned. But let me run through a comrehensive check later on based on all of the information provided which I really do appreciate and see how we go. ....Its impossible to get any servicing done here in New Zealand as the country is in almost a total lockdown!!
Thanks so much again.
Which is simpler, stuffing the card in a slot; or digging out a cable, connecting, turning both on, and proceeding?

It is still inoperative so thanks for all of the suggestions. I think its a job for a Canon technical place to sort out as in all likelihood I would guess something is faulty within.
