I use LR6 (stand alone) with Outlook 2007. At one time I was able to email photo files, not images through Outlook 2007. Somehow I lost that capability. Now when I want to email a photo file, it will only email an image of the file which is embedded in the e-mail. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance. Tom Fama

That feature required that you import your contact list in Outlook or type in the recipient's email each time you sent an email. It is much faster to simply right click on the file in Windows Explorer and send it from there. When you do this with Outlook 2010 and later, it appears as an attachment AND a preview image in the body of the email.

In the export dialogue you have to click send as attachment to avoid inserting it (showing the photo) into the email.

Right click on a mac generally works miracles and provides options...don't know about a PC. BTW, nothing is "embedded." You just see the image whereas with another way of including it you don't see the image, you just see the file.

I also use outlook. Here is what I know. While composing your email, if you click on Insert at the top of the scree and then choose Photo, the image you select will be inserted into the body of the text for all to see.
If, on the other hand, while composing your email and staying in the "Message" , if you click on "Attach File" the image you select will be added as a "file" which you will see in a small white box with filename and thumbnail. Hope this helps. tom

Is your LR6 software update? Check the Help / About menu and confirm v6.14 is reported. If 'no', the Adobe servers no longer respond to the 'update' option from the LR6 menu. See if you can right-click the appropriate version link and download and save the update file to your computer. Then, run the update and confirm you get to v6.14, the final point update through Dec-2017.

Let me try to be clearer. Currently when I email from lightroom what appears in the email is a picture. Before when I emailed, files would be attached (like airplane.jpg) was sent. The would be no picture displayed, only the file name as an attachment that the receiver could click on to open the picture.

Your jpeg is attached. You are just seeing a preview of it in Outlook.
