Hallo All,
I recently got this camera and what I have to learn to use it for all it can do is somewhat overwhelming. A day or so after I got the camera home, I found on the internet the announcement of "The Complete Guide to the Olympus E-M1 III" to be released sometime towards the end of April. It is written by Tony Phillips.
For the life of me, I cannot now find it back. Has any of you (pre-)ordered this book and can tell me where I can find it on the 'net?
I'd very much appreciate it.
I purchased his work on the Fuji X-H1 as an ebook several months ago. A lot of material fairly well organized allowing someone to just dig for the info they want or in my case read it e-cover to e-cover. He also responded directly to me when I had a question that for which I could not find an answer. I hope you find yours as useful.
You might also check to see if Darrel Young (Rocky Nook Press) has a book for your Oly. The title will be something like “Mastering the Olympus OMD xxxxx”. I have one of his earlier books for the Mark 5 II and have preordered for the 5 III. He is excellent! Not only does he tell you what a particular function is for but why and then makes recommendations you can take or leave. I can’t speak highly enough!
Linda, thank you so much for this link. Don't know why I didn't even think about googling for the author, instead of for the book title only. With it I found the announcement for the book as well, looks like it won't be available till the end of May!

Thanks Dave,
I have the book for the first E-M1 camera and really like it. Thought I could find the info I needed from that book, but it's not in the bookcase (yet), which means it is still packed away in a box from when we moved to this apartment. Just don't know which box, and with my luck, it will be the last one I open! The CD with the e-book is packed with it. (Yes, it's about time I emptied all the boxes....)
A few weeks ago, I got the E-M1 mk3, and there are many new (to me) things on this camera. I don't find the user's guide that came with it very helpful. I like what I've been able to figure out so far!
Once I get this e-book, I will print it out and before putting a coil in to make it a book, I'll add blank pages at the end of every chapter or section, to make my own notes!

Thank you, Mizzee. I'll have a look at this. Might even end up ordering both books :-) Mother's day not too far off, and though I'm not his mother, my husband always gets me something for that event, so will give him some strong hints!

A smart man always does something for the mother of his children. You are married to a very loving smart man. Put the preorder form with his lunch as a strong "hint".

I know!! A few years ago he got me a nice macro lens, needed only one hint!
Then again, after just over 51 yrs of marriage, I hope he's got me figured out by now :-)
Vice versa is true too! Last Christmas he told our boys that he didn't know how I always figured out what he wanted for Christmas, birthdays, etc.

I got the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III last summer. I agree that the manual shipped is lousy. However, I found that Olympus has a better user guide on line as a PDF. I contacted Olympus customer service and convinced them to send a printed copy, gratis. The argument I used was the format of the PDF is not printer friendly. It is actually pretty good at explaining controls. Given no really good written guide, I settled for that. Now I'll also look at the other recommendations given here.
Tip: look to GOBE for filters that fit the small kit lens and the telephoto.
Enjoy the camera.
