best tutorial for Lightroom

Hi Hedge Hoggers,
Does anyone here know any simple tutorials for Lightroom, since I can't go to classrooms in this pandemic? I would also like to know what Lightroom program to buy. I have never been good at teaching myself through books, because I am a hands-on learner, so please keep in mind simplicity. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me, even if you tell me not to do it.

Go to Anthony Morganti on You Tube. He has a 14 or 15 part tutorial for free.

Who can say which is best, but the Laura Shoe tutorials helped me tremendously.

Thank you. Any specific program you would recommend to buy?

If you do the Anthony Morganti videos... you'll feel like there is an expert sitting right with you leading you every step of the way. But try to do them in order. It will be time consuming... but well worth your time... if you're serious.

There's so much free training available, don't buy anything until you've exhausted free. Hopefully, you won't have to buy any after all.

When you say "what program to buy" I'm not sure if you are referring to the Adobe plan or buying LR outright (which I think you might still be able to do). Or do you mean the Adobe plan but which LR on that plan? The Adobe plan includes a mobil version of LR and a desktop version of LR plus Photoshop plus access to hundreds of fonts, Spark which creates slide shows and other electronic "printed" material, website software and other software programs. I use the Adobe plan (I've used LR for 8 or so years) so that I can take advantage of all of the above as needed. I'm not a fan of older, outdate software.

Adobe has a lot of videos if you like to learn that way and they are free so you might start there. Adobe also offers an online Help manual for LR. I use the desktop version and if you decide to go with the desktop version do read all you can about the Library Module as that is the module that gets people confused. If you read about that module first and then experiment with the software you will, possible, avoid some common mistakes people make. You can find some LR information on my website, listed with my name. I've taught it in college and privately for a couple of years now. A great program if you take the time to learn a little bit about it first.

Lightroom is one of the easiest things to learn. However make organizing files within Lightroom one of your fist lessons. YouTube has tons of great tutorials and as a previous poster said Anthony Morgani (spelling??) is a good start.

Following the via the lens point above, you can't reliably 'buy' Lightroom at all. It hasn't been for sale stand alone since December 2017. It seems that if you don't have a valid serial number in your Adobe profile predating Dec 31, 2017, you can no longer install old Adobe software (new to you) and add that out-of-date serial number to your profile to complete the install process.

When 'shopping' at the Adobe site, you want the $9.99 / month version that bundles Lightroom Classic, LR CC and Photoshop with some small amount of cloud-storage that lets you share temporary files between your mobile device using LRCC and your main desktop / laptop with LR Classic.

I would check out Ben Willmore’s online class at Masters Academy. He has the most in-depth video training along with practice files and downloadable PDFs .
If you are interested in learning Lightroom and Photoshop, please check it out. I could not recommend it highly enough.

I just checked the site out and wanted to say Thank you. I've been working on learning more about PS and this seems to be a really good site for that, so thanks! It might be a bit much for a beginner to LR but it does depend on each person's individual ability to learn.
