I've been there and at times it seemed like miles per person -that is when I was fishing around Hamilton and Darby in '55-LOL

Amen.

Hard to believe Admin hasn't moved it to the Attic, which is where it probably should have been posted anyway. Maybe he hasn't noticed it yet.

Which governor or governors has the power to call a national emergency? And which governor or governors has the power to call it off? While you are busy studying your constitutional law, what branch of govt. has the sole power to do this?

I might add look at all the unconstitutional measures governors are using now when they get a taste of power. I'm from Michigan where you are not allowed to cross your street to talk with your neighbor, (subject to heavy fines). And I feel sorry for florists and plant sellers who are not allowed to sell their perishable stock (non-essential goods and services).
Which governor or governors has the power to call ... (show quote)

Governors have similar powers in their own states, such as the powers that are used to maintain order in case of local emergency in the immediate aftermath of floods, tornadoes, and earthquakes.I have not investigated each order, but I would guess that these were issued under that authority of the Governor, and as such the President does not have the authority to overturn valid action under State Law.

For example Indiana's "shut down" is less stringent that Michigan's is, and there have been reports of Michiganders driving to Indiana to play golf. Michigan's Governor has prohibited driving between two residential locations in Michigan, but not leaving the State. Neither Governor can prohibit travel between states - that is a federal matter - and Indiana allows golf courses to be open. Golf courses located in places like Niles MI {part of our TV market} have been complaining.

Getting pretty tired of repeating this. We are under a National Emergency that the President has declared. Under the National Emergency Act of 1976, the president has the total authority to call a National Emergency over the States and he has the power to call it off. He has told the governors to conduct their states as they see fit and if he doesn't like some of their actions he will intervene. What are you missing?

He only has certain power over the Governors.
The states created the federal government.
The Tenth Amendment to the US Constitution limits the power of any potential King George {or Emperor Don}

Here's the facts
Montana's population was 1,068,778 in 2019, We have 145,552 square miles of LAND, this does not include any water. That means there are 7.3429 people per square miles.

There is 27,878,400 square feet in a square mile, so each person has 3,796,647 square feet. That is 1,948.4986 by 1,948.4986 feet for each person. if each person stood in the center of there square they would be .3690 miles apart.

With 56 counties, 28 have zero reported cases, 8 have 1. That's 64.2857% of our counties with 1 or less cases.

We have 387 confirmed cases, or .00032095 of our population.
With 6 deaths that .00000561388 of our population

So far this year we have had 29 people die in traffic accidents.

I think all roadways should be shut down as deaths on the roads are 4.83333 times worse.

YES THIS IS A BAD THING! BUT WE HAVE TO BRING COMMON SINCE BACK INTO THE EQUATION

Here's the facts br Montana's population was 1,068... (show quote)

Stay locked down for as long as possible if you don't want to be like NY and NJ, this is not a drill. There is no vaccine yet and the death rate is off the charts. Non symptomatic persons can spread the virus. Even though 80 % of the infected have mild symptoms the disease hits hard on the rest. Those that die die alone and horribly. My daughter inlaw is a nurse here in NJ and I am very worried for her and my son.

It is a "FOOL" who does not take this to heart and practice the methods needed to protect themselves and others from this virus- deadly to many-horrible for many- gentle to so few.

I like the part in the NY Post picture that says "...more than any nation in the world."
Are those people who belong to no one?

Also, one must look at the population of those other nations and the respective death rate.
What are the populations of those countries compared to the US?

Countries with higher populations are have the propensity for higher death rates.
I don't take ALL numbers posted as gospel.
You can prove anything with statistics.

Here are some stats for INFECTIONS based on POPULATION:

I just want EVERYONE to know that my original post way back on page one had nothing to do with politics, name calling, or bad mouthing anyone. It was just a question directed with the facts. Isn't this a wonderful country that allows its citizens to be able to say what they want about the leaders of our country

Too bad though that so many people feel they need to voice their opinion everywhere.
I guess it makes them feel better.....

But anyone who has been here for very long could predict it would get political, especially since the issue of who could end the lockdown had been in the news lately.

Sorry Tommg, maybe you should recheck your math.

there are 27,878,400 square feet in one square mile (5,280 feet x 5,280 feet)
so Montana has 4,057,756,876,800 square feet ( 27,878,400 square feet x 145,552 square miles )
so that's 3,796,632 square feet per person ( 4,057,756,876,800 square feet / 1,068,778 people )
thats a 1,948.50 x 1948.50 foot square for each person

NOT 26.3 square feet which is ( 5.128 x 5.128 feet )
