Quartz is rated for 451 degrees.

One missed lemon seed and you got a pit in the stone for granite.

Check Costco for quartz.

You will regret getting a dark counter. It happens to more than half of the people. I do layouts and consulting for a local cabinet maker.

I’ve gone round and round in this too. Thanks. I’m gonna commit to that dark granite tomorrow morning. $6k for everything we’re doing which includes a lot of tile splash on the wall under the cabinets. Large sink... It’s quite a large kitchen.

Yep. The installer/owner will show me how to maintain the granite. I’ll also research on my own too for the best materials to use.

Getting 90 sq feet, 2 slabs.

There are penetrating sealants that last for many years. Anyway, it’s less effort than waxing a car. I walked the warehouse again. Seemed the best looking piece there for the home.

Replacing an air conditioner before summer too. So doing what I can for the local economy.

We use Stonetech Bulletproof by Dupont and fill the tiny craters with SuperGlue and razorblade them smooth. Not many, but they do occasionally appear.

That’s not too bad.

When I did my kitchen. My 18 solid wood Omega brand cabinets cost $16k, I paid 1800 for two 3cm quartz slabs. That made 30 linear feet of counter top.

Cost in my area is $50 to $100 + per square foot.
