So far we have only 8 confirmed cases here in Pennington county, SD. However, we have seen an increase in tourists escaping the virus scourge from as far away as New Jersey. Who knows whether they might be another infection vector? It’s not even springtime here yet as we just got an 8” snowfall 2days ago and it’s snowing today again! Awefully early for tourist season. Stay home!

If that is true, social distancing is REALLY important.

I'm really tired of the "what we are doing is working" defense. It's not provable OR disprovable. The only way to gather counterfactual data is to have a source of facts that come from a 'counter' situation..... No matter what the final tallies end up being, the 'experts' will be so proud of how we kept the totals below the projections and the TDS crowd will clamor on about how President Trump did nothing and did everything wrong, and all of them will have NO basis for comparison, no baseline, no control (the scientific term, not the group 'controlled') group. Any and all theories will have NO proof, and yet this event will be the model for the next, sans proof.

This whole 'shut everything down' action is DANGEROUS precedent if you ask me, and is a FAR greater threat to the liberty, ingenuity, and productivity of the nation. I'm just thankful we have a President who is motivated to get the economy back on track. I fully believe President Hillary would be thrilled to cripple the economy permanently, just to usher in more dependence and more demand of an increasing governmental intrusion. And by the way, my previous statement has more counterfactual evidence to support it than any coronavirus model.

Sadly, Paladin48 may well be right. Evidence is mounting that the real pandemic is panic itself. Not to understate the danger of the disease, but to point out that certain politicos in this country and around the world believe in Saul Alinsky's maxim never to miss the opportunity to take advantage of a crisis to push for policy change.

That alarmist fraud of a "climate scientist" in England who carefully doctored research to push a political agenda of "accelerated global warming" that would disrupt economies in "first world" countries and impoverish millions in "third world" countries is now promulgating the pandemic alarm to effect the same result with Covid-19. Unfortunately, though proven to have deliberately misled the world on climate vagaries, he still has sway with the British government in terms of policy decisions.

Consider too that the entities clamoring for extended shutdown of our economy are the ones clamoring for more of the nation's money--the medical establishment. Consider too that Bill Gates and cohorts are pushing for mandatory vaccination and implantation of identity/tracking chips empowered with 5G technology for EVERYONE, with harsh penalties for those who resist.

No "conspiracy theory" here: these plans are published in Gates' own papers and public statements and in published United Nations documents. The misuse of proven wrong computer models to promote drastic worldwide economic and social change, i.e., the New World Order, via global warming panic hasn't worked, so now the same people are trying to use the pandemic panic to accomplish the same end. It is definitely about control!
