Dennis, I find it quite amusing. Our friends here from Canada grouse about our duly elected President Donald J. Trump yet in the most technical and legal terms, HM Queen Elizabeth II is 100% the Head of State in her role as Queen of Canada and holds all executive power.

At least The United States of America told the Royalty of Great Britain to 'kiss our butt' and we would not be subject to any royal family. Canada still kisses the ring of their Queen.

And that is exactly why they will never, ever have the freedoms that we fought the monarchy for to be able to choose our own destiny free of the crown.

She doesn't even have any power in England. Look up ceremonial.

Clearly you don't understand how the Commonwealth works. If you can cite a single instance where HRH Queen Elizabeth II interfered with anything that our government wanted to do, then I will say you are right. As things stand she is little more than a figurehead. Why we still have her is a mystery to me, but I don't see it as limiting any freedoms whatsoever.

But wait until Trump grabs more power by abolishing presidential term limitations and declares himself king; then we can talk about freedoms. You will have one media stream -- Faux News -- who will rewrite history to the likings/whims of His Royal Highness (of course he won't use that term; he needs to be unique).

John, I didn't write that she interferes with the governing of Canada however who knows what goes on behind closed doors and phone calls between Canada's Parliament and the Royal Crown. Frankly, I have no business in voicing an opinion in Canadian politics...however I will say that Canada makes some very fine whiskey. I am not a resident and thus I have no vote or voice in anything that Canada does. I do find it strange that there is still any connection whatsoever and somehow strange things always seem to happen in strange ways.

Funny you should mention "... phone calls between Canada's Parliament and the Royal Crown" and "... I will say that Canada makes some very fine whiskey" in your post. I think one of our finest whiskeys is Seagram's "Crown Royal" brand, some variations of which were made in Waterloo, ON where I grew up. My father made his own wine the old fashioned way, and he sometimes purchased an old whiskey barrel from Seagram's. He did not wash it out too much, letting some of the flavour in the wood seep out into the wine. Every year was a new batch with a new surprise flavour.

PS no corporation pays a dime in taxes.
They are merely the tax collector.
The idiots who say that corporations pay taxes never studied business.
Taxes are a cost of business that is passed on to the stupid consumer in higher prices.

Check your records and you will find that Big Business and Corporations made out like bandits under the OBAMA administration. Why is you Liberals didn't whine and cry like babies when OBAMA was screwing the middle class but are wailing away right now while President Trump has done more for the middle class than the past 3 Presidents? I will be right here. Perhaps you have been drinking more than just plain water my friend.

Pray tel us what those ways are. Was it the tax cuts, the present stimulus package to keep the middle class going, the amount of jobs he created with his policies since he became POTUS. Hell there are so many I can't keep track. So what is it that keeps you from seeing even a few of his working policies that is working to build the middle class? Is it as I have thought for years, your absolute Liberal Socialist ideas that simply will not allow you to speak to the truth of the matter no matter how well people are around you are doing because of Trump's policies?

Middle Class or Working Man is lib code for Union.
That does not pass the test either regarding trump though as he has brought back 10's of thousands of union jobs that obummer destroyed and specifically said would never ever come back as he laughed about it with his moronic grin.

Once upon a time, long ago now, I over indulged in whiskey and it and I have come to an agreement that it is best that if we both part company. I've been a Vodka drinker ever since and although I have been 'over the top' many times in my younger years, hugging the toilet for me is a better experience with Vodka and eventually I recover. The saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" may be true for me except when it comes to whiskey.

the corp rate was 35% when Obama went in and came out. under trump it went down to 21%. whatever taxes they collect, they find a way to keep all or most of it.

Actually Bull Drink Water is wrong. Donald Trump's business ventures created a vast number of jobs in both that he hired personally and those that the contractors hired.

Obummer was a Community Organizer. He created no jobs whatsoever he simply sucked on the money tit of others and that's why he never gets his head out of social programs which in his own words were described as a Redistribution of Wealth.

Now with that said, it begs the question how Obummer came into office with a modest earnings and now has an estimated wealth of $40-million dollars. Maybe he got one of the big "scratch-off" winners at the local stop-and-rob when he dropped in for a Slurpee and a roller-dog (which I like by the way!).
