Photography is alive along Route 66.
This is fabulous! Nicely shot photos, that tell a story about this great old nostalgic area of our country. Thanks much! :-)
Brings back good memories. I was eating a hot dog in Oatman, turned around and a burro took it right out of my hand. They aren't afraid of humans at sll.
Love the old stuff on 66. Great images.

Very interesting set.
The Air Force Base I was at in 1961 was located on Route 66. I drove with a friend to his home
in California on that old route.
Enjoyed the photos very much. In which town did you find the donkeys ? The photos from the Wigwam Motel (Holbrook/Az ?) look like they were taken decades ago.
Nice shotd , the 4th and 5th photos remind me of the Kona Nightingales, on the Big Island of Hawaii. They were first used to carry coffee and other heavy loads. Later, other forms of transportation was used and the donkeys roamed freely in Kona. The Nightingale reference d the braying

Brought back several different memories. Traveled Rte 66 from Wisconsin/Chicago to California in 1965, with wife and baby. Saw begging burros near the Black Hills in the 70’s. They loved some cigars a man ahead of me was giving them. As B.H. Used to say “Thanks For The Memories”👍

Traveled that route 4 times. in the 60's. Memories are still vivid.
I too traveled that road from California to Kansas, MANY times over 13 years of travels at least twice a year!
I remember the T-Pee's and the motel where the classic cars are Parked. We may have rented a roomthere? Certainly familiar!
Lot's and Lot's of memories!!!

I would love to drive this highway and visit those places again. Thank you for reminding me how cool that old road really is.
In 1957 we traveled the 66 route for our honey moon from Detroit to LA. Even then the "new" interstate was bypassing many wonderful stopping places! Never the less it was a wonderful trip in a little Nash Rambler with a continental tire kit on the rear!.
Think I'll put Route 66 on my bucket list. Thanks for the preview! My favorite is the donkey edging into the store!
