Today's (April 2) Power comment from NY medical expert.

I'm a news hound. When not teaching or doing photography, I'm always following all the news I can.

This morning, on the Today Show, a highly respected medical expert in New York said:

New York today? That's the way the rest of the country will be in ... 2 weeks.

Thanks eye opening.

I've read, seen, or heard a number of 'highly respected' medical "experts" over the past days and weeks. The only thing a lot of them can agree on is the name of this malady. Except for working from home, life goes on a usual.

And we are both working from home. Missouri is one of the few states where the Governor won't demand people stay home.

New York is different from the rest of our country in that it is a truly global cosmopolitan center with a densely packed population. Other states are not like this. What are you watching the Today show for if you want hard, non-fake news?

And what are you suggesting for hard, non-fake news?

Good luck on that, there is no source, the news became entertainment many years ago!

Locking down the whole country is drastic and inconvenient.
A lot of people assume that those areas that are not hit hard will continue that way.
That is a dangerous assumption. Lives are at stake.

In my humble opinion, it all depends on every state's own response to the goal of flattening the curve.

In states that seem to be working harder achieving this goal such as CA and WA, it seems to be slowly paying off. That is, there are signs that the curve is beginning to flatten in these particular states (according to latest report by Drs. Fauci and Birx). Bottom line is, it all depends on how each state takes this virus seriously.

Below photo of a NYC Domino Park where sunbathers gathered right after Gov. Cuomo plea for New Yorkers to practice social distancing while coronavirus wreak havoc. Photo taken just 5 days ago.

Social distancing works. Don't believe me - history has already demonstrated it in the Influenza Pandemic of 1918-1919. I call it "A Tale of Two Cities: St. Louis and Philadelphia."

Wait for it.

"JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — There is currently no Missouri statewide stay-at-home order in place.
At a news conference Thursday, Gov. Mike Parson said he's evaluating the current order banning groups of 10 or more people, along with social distancing.

He said he expects to make an announcement about the next move for the state on Friday.
Parson only addressed the issue after a question from the news media."

I'm not saying the medical expert is fake. I'm saying NBC news and F. Chuck Todd, et al. is a perpetrator of fake news and a biased agenda. As to where you should go for your news it's not there.

I will say though, that Fox was the first to break the news on the efficacy of Hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19 back in March, before the President did. Then look at the networks that belittled it and refused to even mention it for your decision on who is giving you the real news.

I have heard so many self-proclaimed medical experts pontificate lately, all with a different story, that I hesitate to believe any of them. Even the news people have become experts--imagine that.

My daughter-in-law is a respiratory therapist in a major Indianapolis hospital, working with these patients on the front lines. I believe what she tells me because she’s in there fighting the thing first-hand.
