I lost three High School Classmates in that war. Two of three were Army Draftees. One Army enlistee.1969-70. I saw their names on the Vietnam Memorial Wall, when I visited DC in 2015. My late cousin, US Army retired, from Ft. Bliss, TX, survived that war. But, battled sicknesses thereafter. I just saw, not long ago, on TV, a documentary on the battle to take Hamburger Hill. It also happens to be my favorite Vietnam War movie. It is hard to believe, the Vietnam War began over 50+ years ago. That's over a half century.
