Any one remember Car Hop food trays, Hanging dice from mirror, the Hula Girl. Anyone have some favorites - add some pictures.
I certainly do remember the car hop service. That was always so much fun.
Really nice set with a lot of memories, rusty.
I remember. Sonic tries to keep it alive.
Brings back some fond memories.
Nice shots rusty! Is the first one a Chevy Impala?
Gene’s Root Beer in Anderson, Indiana, and B&K Root Beer in Alexandria, Indiana, still have car hops. They've both just opened for the season.
Gene’s is usually so busy that it’s hard to find a parking space, and it has a big lot. They both have been in business since the ‘50s. Gene’s is still run by the same family.
Thanks yssirk123 and yes Chevy Impala
Thank Jaymatt you for the story of a family business still doing it the retro style

I'm pretty sure that it is a 1959 Impala, the one that had the huge gull-like fins.

MY PEOPLE......Yeah Baby ! Those were the days.
I was a "Stake & Shake" Car Hop in the early 60's where I would work nights after school. I earned $2.00 a night plus my tips. We stood outside regardless of the weather and many times I swam the food and drinks out to the cars. The older teenagers were the worst for they would order a soda and sit there the night long and if they did leave a tip it was just a bit of change that they would put in the bottom of the glass with a bit of the soda still in it.
Oh yeah, I remember those days.
