Your question caused an old joke to pop up about the two fishermen who found a great spot to fish in. "Did you mark the spot?" The reply, "Yep. I put an 'x' on the side of the boat."
The sun's position will be fairly close to the previous day. The swing goes one way South or North, depending on which side of the Equator you are located. At the equinoxes, the swing reverses.
There are several sources to go to. The time of the events is crucial to know. This can be found on the several weather information sources, even the Farmer's Almanac.
Always keep in mind that looking directly into the sun does have the potential of eye injury.

there are apps that do this and sunrise and sunset
it a matter of minutes everyday
