Because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Federal Government has extended filing your Income Tax for 60 days. Due to massive layoffs of mostly small businesses, and a strain on hospitals and medical centers, the stimulant checks, will be delivered to taxpayers before the filing deadline.
I'm going to go ahead as planned and send my payment prior to Apr 15. That gets that nasty business out of the way.

Agree Bob. Mine is done and refund received.
Will the checks be delivered to folks who are hospitalized by the virus so they can pay their way out when well again?
I did mine by email and had to pay. It's over and done with.
As far as everyone getting $2000 dollars; i think this wrong. It should go to the needy and not the greedy.

IF the extension was for 90 days, that would place the due date at JULY 15, not June 15.
Aside from that, the due date for most personal returns is still April 15, per irs.gov. The due date has not been changed because most returns are filed online.
The filing extension is extended to July 15th. Seems a long extension for the few weeks that you can't file by April. I guess they may be thinking of the extension giving people more time to come up with the money that they may owe.

WRONG!
The tax forms must be turned in by April 15, BUT payment of tax due is delayed interest free until July 15. My accountant said yesterday to me that their IRS guidance is that tax forms must be filed by April 15.
i hate to have bills hanging over my head; so i went and paid it.

I trust CBS about as far as I can throw a tractor. The IRS is the ONLY source I trust for this. On the official IRS web site (irs.gov) it still says the filing deadline is April 15. Up to you which one you believe but better safe than sorry.
Sorry Donald, but CBS is doing it again. FAKE NEWS. File by April 15 and pay by July 15. Check the IRS website and they make it crystal clear.

I posted that link as it was the first I found, however watching live news of virus updates confirmed that the filing date was changed. Initially filing date was 4/15, and payment date was 7/15, but then that changed to filing and payment on 7/15.
BTW: I feel you about trusting the alphabet stations!

No, filing date has not changed, only payment. See the following from the IRS website today.
March 18, 2020
Washington – Following President Donald J. Trump’s emergency declaration pursuant to the Stafford Act, the U.S. Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) today issued guidance allowing all individual and other non-corporate tax filers to defer up to $1 million of federal income tax (including self-employment tax) payments due on April 15, 2020, until July 15, 2020, without penalties or interest. The guidance also allows corporate taxpayers a similar deferment of up to $10 million of federal income tax payments that would be due on April 15, 2020, until July 15, 2020, without penalties or interest. This guidance does not change the April 15 filing deadline.
“Americans should file their tax returns by April 15 because many will receive a refund. Those filing will be able to take advantage of their refunds sooner,” said Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin. “This deferment allows those who owe a payment to the IRS to defer the payment until July 15 without interest or penalties. Treasury and IRS are ensuring that hardworking Americans and businesses have additional liquidity for the next several months.”
Today’s guidance will result in about $300 billion of additional liquidity in the economy in the near term. Treasury and IRS will issue additional guidance as needed and continue working with Congress, on a bipartisan basis, on legislation to provide further relief to the American people.
