I wasn't concerned with the lenses you use. I was curious why I should buy dx lenses instead of ff.

You're sure to find someone here to copy.

Wow did not mean to stir up such animosity.
EFs and DX are the same so term is interchangeable.

Nikon uses term "DX".
Canon uses term "EF-S".
Pentax uses term "DA".
If you include other manufacturers, there are lots of other terms for "lenses with 'APS-C' image circle".

I own 13 lenses. 11 of which are ff. Not quite sure why you are a buzzle head but enjoy your life and please try to leave my post out of it. Thank you.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. All this time I thought you were the one who "was curious why I should buy dx lenses instead of ff."

Exactly.
Terms are interchangeable for the same thing.

Thankfully photography seems to get harder for me by the day.
I guess that this UHH site is "learning" me something.
A special thanks to all who freely contribute so positively to my learning curve.

Maybe this was a sales thing.....to sell extra new Dx lenses vs. already existing ff lenses....

I to apologize for being snarky. Sorry you misunderstood my question. Happy shooting.

My Tamron 18-400 is a DX lens which I use on my D500 when I want a single camera and a lighter lens to cover different focal lengths.

Lower weight?
Lower cost?
Smaller size?
No long-term FF aspirations?
More all-in-one options with excellent image quality, particularly Nikon's 18 to whatever zoom options?
Not UHH subscribers and not subjected to FF peer pressure?

With Canon at least the EF-S lenses are mostly all zooms and not fast zooms either. Don’t know about other brands. The cost, weight and size are the advantages...
