The lower tier Nikons use a pentamirror and the upper tier 7 series use a pentaprism.. The P-mirror in the 3/5 series are smaller and they don't let a lot light thru the eyepiece, on the other hand the Penta passes more light through and they are larger to boot. It's all about the money.....

A distinction without a difference when compared with the Fuji EVF's. The EVF lets you see your finished image before you take it because you are "looking through the sensor" and not at a mirror image.

Fuji X-T30 is an excellent choice.
I am "stuck" with the X-T20 and love it
My big bulky Canon system which I used for many years is gone for good.

You can’t shoot what you can see
Even Sony e at 20 frames a second can not follow live action as well as D 300 which only shoots 6or 7 frames you can take a many pic with the 300 but I can see
You can not shoot active any thing with a mirror less camera or at least I can’t

Then you have not tried a recent model Fuji. I shoot puppies - nothing is faster moving than a gang of puppies.

It is a difference. Perhaps you haven’t used one, but prism provides a much better view.

I used Nikon SLR's and DSLR's for over 40 years - lots and lots of prisms! I have found the EVF of Fuji sooooo much better, because I can actually see through the sensor. There is no particular virtue in seeing the subject reflected in a mirror when you have no real idea what the sensor is actually seeing.

I think he is referring the the continuing belief that the prism allows instantaneous capture but the EVF has a lag. having bee shooting lightening fast puppies for 45 years, using both Nikons with Prism/mirror both film and Digital, and now a Fuji XT2, I think the Fuji has it all over the optical systems. First of all it is delusional to think you can grab what you are seeing instantly. Reaction time from eye to brain to finger involves a lag much greater than a moving puppy, so no matter what viewer you are using you are not going to capture the instant. Continuous burst may do it, and that will work the same with either system. The EVF still has the advantage of letting you see EXACTLY what the sensor is recording as it records it, something a mirror reflection does not. I got this shot before the last drop fell by LUCK, not skill! (Nikon D90)

The theory of the prism being better, haven't you read the original question?
