I am thinking of producing a calendar for family/friends/co-workers for December gift giving. Any recommendations/experiences to share? TIFF or JPEG? Vendors? Things not to do?

I had one done at Walmart 4 years ago for my Ma, she loved it, and it was excellent quality. I just uploaded my pics (JPEG), and paid and picked up in store

I did a couple with Kodak when they were doing printing. Now you can go to Adorama. They do beautiful work, and they're fast. I used all JPG, but you can check on whatever site you use for details.
Unlike other calendars, you won't be throwing it away at the end of the year. :D
I buy blank calendars with spaces for photos for each month and stick in photos (double sided tape)as applicable to family members/friends etc. Cheap and easy and can make very personal.

Shutterfly. I've done two and been pretty happy, but I would definitely check prices. I felt they might have been a little high, but the quality was superb. Maybe the price was right.
interesting . About 2 or 3 years back , my granddaughter made calendars for her friends using Elements 8. All we had to do was d/l/ the templates .We had the pictures , calendar paper work already so it was a fun project for her and a learning situation for me . I remember buying the "kit" ( paper / spiral plastic etc ) at WalMart , it was on discount really cheap . Don't know if its even sold anymore !
I use built in "Calendar" program and printing service that is part of iPhoto comes with all Apple Mac computers. Fast, easy and very high quality.

Snapfish also offers this service - they're quick and the calendars are really nice - lots of options for design, etc. I create one every year as Christmas gifts for family and friends.

You should look at Costco also
Theres not a lot of templates out now, heres 3 might help.
Some on ebay one or two, most are 2012. I don't know why they make next years in dec and jan. I make them up for Christmas. To give to my costomers. The dates change every 7 years. If you have something you want let me know (SM) I will try to find it. We are here to help each other.
office depot also does them tell them what pictures you want on each month and they do the rest.I think it cost about 10 to 15 dollers.

I use Print Shop 2. You can design your own calendar or put your photos on templates that are pre prepared. There is probably a newer version out now.
Also Photoshop has Calendars in there programs.
