I love Edinburgh! Thank you for sharing. <3 I'm looking forward to visiting it this fall with a travel group.

Try to break away from the group if you can and do some walking about on your own and definitely visit the Grassmarket. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you! :-) I don't know how much free time we'll have but I hope to walk around a bit. In 2009 my roommate and I tried to find the Abraham Lincoln monument on/near Old Calton Hill but ended up on the path that leads to the top. That's pretty awesome as well. Was probably my favorite moment from the trip.

Finding the stairway that was featured in the mini-series "North & South" was a thrill as well (BBC?). <3

The Abraham Lincoln statue is in the Old Calton Cemetery which is at the top of Princes Street on the right hand side, just a bit below where you would start up Calton Hill itself.

That looks awesome! :-) We didn't have enough time to find it but did enjoy the other one. I'll do a better job of researching the exact spot before going this fall ... in the event there's time to go there. Thanks!

Sue, WOW!!! Excellent photo. Sue, you must spend a lot of time over in Scotland and I thank you for the views from over there.
