Note "Seasonally Adjusted"

It's winter in the north of America.

Not Global cooling. Not Global warming.

The snowfall is beautiful...and it melts within a day or so...maybe a week. And then another beautiful snow storm falls around us and we all greet each other and invite us collectively into the nearest kitchen for coffee and warm chocolate with marshmallows. Then go back out and deal with the snow. Not anything cooling or warming about this.....been doing it for my past 50 years....and it still makes us feel good to get together and deal with the snow.

Sometimes there are 3 or 5 or even 7 feet of snow here, and other years there are just dustings of snow. The Great Lakes froze completely for the first time in recorded history four years ago. The following year not one of them even showed any surface ice.

You have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool Frosty when it comes to snow and ice.

From Google search.
“Records show that Lake Michigan and Lake Ontario are the only lakes to have resisted freezing over since recording began in the early 1900s. This is due to their lower latitudes and large depths.Dec 17, 2018”

The coffee and warm chocolate with marshmallows is still good, even if the Great Lakes are just open water lakes.

Does this relate to anything?

One man said follow the money... and add to that... graph the numbers and they tell the story.. yes Obama was handed a Baby Bush mess and pulled the economy back together and his numbers are stronger than Trump's.

There are plenty of charts/data to show the steady "progress trends" in unemployment, GDP, Dow Jones, etc, from 2010 onwards. The data show NO SIGNIFICANT bumps or changes in slope of the trends. Everything is humming along smoothly.

As has been said many times, Trump can claim credit for the numbers today being the lowest/highest ever (depending on the indicator being measured), but that is exactly what one would expect from a smooth progression of a trend... AS LONG AS NO ONE DOES SOMETHING STUPID TO UPSET THE APPLE CART!!! To Trump's credit he has NOT YET done anything that would cause the economy to go sour. But there is still time... especially if he gets re-elected.

But despite the data that have been presented ad nauseam now, Trumpeters still think that Obama's economy was crap and that Trump turned it around. Trump did no such thing. The truth is out there if one has their eyes open.

Obama said, the days of 2% growth were behind us... Sadly he was too optimistic. His growth was really a dismal 1.6%. That was a broadcast statement drawing from his best analysis of the effects his decisions had made and would make. They we just had to get used to it.

For three years they lamented that Trump overturned every thing Obama had done... that it would mean catastrophe. Now the Orwellian minds of the left want to claim credit for statistics and results that is 180° opposite of what their great economic minds predicted... everything they said was 180° wrong!

The proof of the fact that he is trying to claim credit means that even they have to admit its all good. Because you know if it was bad, they would blame Trump. For the record, I am not tired of winning yet- Trump was wrong on that one.

ROFL- you guys, who don't know which bathroom to use, crack me up!

Where is the humility from the left in admitting, "Hey, my economic worldview has been put to the test and proven all wrong? I better rethink this. Maybe tax cuts and deregulation and energy production really do fire up the supply side of the economy. Maybe putting America first really does help the stock market and raise incomes. Maybe everything I was taught in college and grad school about Keynesian economics is a fraud."

Alas, we hear none of that, just flimsy excuses for why they were so wrong about Trump. First, the economy was going to crash. Then, when it didn't crash, the boom was just a "sugar high" from large budget deficits and tax cuts. Then, when the "high" lasted three years, we were told a recession was "right around the corner." Then, when the recession didn't happen and the economy picked up steam in the last six months, we heard that this was just the continuation of the Obama trend. So, this is the left's line of reasoning: If the economy crashes, it's Trump's fault. If the economy soars, Obama gets the credit.

Trump GETS THE CREDIT for CONTINUING a good economy.

Trump ALSO GETS THE CREDIT for LYING that he turned around Obama's failing economy.

"Trump has a kind heart. He has a loving father/wife/children heart. He knows what matters and will do things...he cares."

That is just too friggin' funny and sad...it beggars belief...and it bore repeating.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump took a President's Day swipe at his predecessor, Barack Obama, as each sought credit Monday for the U.S. economy.

Mocking an earlier Obama tweet as a "con job," Trump blasted Obama for "now trying to take credit for the economic boom taking place under the Trump administration."

The strong robust U.S. economy – including the low 3.6% unemployment – is a central talking point for Trump on the campaign trail. Obama appeared to take a subtle dig with a tweet earlier Monday marking the 11th anniversary of the 2009 economic stimulus.

"Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history," Obama posted on Twitter.

Throughout the day, Democrats responded by praising Obama's tweet and arguing that Trump is reaping the benefits of the work his predecessor did. Republicans accused Obama of seeking credit for Trump's policies, an argument Trump echoed later.

"He had the WEAKEST recovery since the Great Depression, despite Zero Fed Rate & MASSIVE quantitative easing. NOW, best jobs numbers," Trump posted of Obama.

Trump has argued that his emphasis on reducing regulations and the 2017 tax bill has spurred economic growth.

Democrats noted that unemployment and stock prices began increasing under the Obama years as they bounced back from the Great Recession, a trend that continued into Trump's presidency. Trump loyalists pointed out that the unemployment rate is at its lowest point in decades while the stock market has been hitting record highs.

Please explain this to me Kraken. The Dems are saying the economy is not that good and people are hurting. And Obama is saying he should take credit for the good economy. WTF?

He will have to find something to copy and paste as he has no thoughts of his own.

The "slowest" recovery was recovering at much the same rate as the current economy is progressing. In fact, due to the nature of exponentials, the current unemployment "rate" under Trump is actually less than under Obama.
