There are EXIF data reader online. I use Jeffery's Image Metadata Reader.

Jim, the advice you've been given will give you the shutter count recorded in the camera. However, be aware that Nikon could have replaced the shutter in that camera and it could be brand new. The issue would be that they don't reset the counter to 0.

Sorry, it says that model is supported. Worked for my D7100 & D90. Didn't work for any of the Canons.

I bought a refurbished D850 from nikonusa.com last year and according to shuttercounter.com, it arrived with 30 actuations. See attached EXIF data information report prepared from ShutterCounter on 1/6/2019.
