Good point!

I travel often. My cameras and lenses never had an issue.

Rivets are used in aircraft because they are much lighter than a bolt, washer and nut, and because they take much less time to install. Unless you're talking about a B-17 or other early aircraft which used universal dome headed rivets a flush rivet is also less drag than a flush bolt since there's no depression for a driver to install them. If you were to use screws instead of bolts then every mating part would have to be drilled and tapped which would drive up the cost of dramatically.

It's ok, the rest of us saw the humor in it.

If they do our TSA boys should be informed immediately and have all planes grounded until this is sorted out.
You just can't make this stuff up.

I've been told hard core Trumpeteers use their cell phones all the time...

I Had just gotten a new Spotmatic 35mm camera and went out west skiing. Had a great time and lots of pictures. When I got home, I though something was wrong with my new camera. I couldn't believe that every tiny little screw was loose! So it can happen, however this was 40-45 years ago.

Go into the unknown with truth, commitment, and openness and most likely, you'll be okay.

Those words allow for anything to be said. As for jet engines loosening screws, that sounds like Area 51 talk.

I was on a relatively long flight from Orlando to Seattle once and the staples of the magazine I was reading fell out... but my camera survived OK.
