Very nice set. I'm am a Chicago-land snowbird that has been spending my winters in the panhandle for the past 16 years. Whenever my grandson came down to visit this is one spot we always hit. 2014 was the last time. Us old folks have to get back over there. Thanks for reminding us how nice it is.

The National Naval Aviation Museum is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. Share the excitement of Naval Aviation’s rich history and see more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. These historic and one-of-a-kind aircraft are displayed both inside the Museum’s nearly 350,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on its 37-acre grounds. Beautiful is an understatement...the aircraft are simply beautiful and the place is spotless.

There are so many aircraft its impossible to show or even name them here so here's a small sampling. Like all museums of Aviation, its naturally crowded however its totally indoors. For instance the PB2Y Coronado (the only one in existence) was so large it had to be disassembled and then reassembled in the museum. Also are aircraft flown by or in by both Presidents Nixon & Bush. Aircraft and exhibits are arranged by war theaters from WWI through the Iraq war. There are also numerous exhibits including 3-D showings, flight simulators, space simulators and other attractions for children and adults alike.

Somewhat biased since I was in Naval Aviation for 20+ years, I personally believe this museum is on par, if not better than the Dulles Museum, sans the Space Shuttle and associated space exhibits. If in the area, its an absolute must-visit for all aviation enthusiasts. Even better the admission is free.
The National Naval Aviation Museum is the world’s ... (show quote)

Great set! I was there around 1985, but I understand it is much better now. I love photo 8, as I spent over half of my 35 year career (26 of it as a Navy civilian aerospace engineer) doing in-service engineering on the S-3, a great airplane that was retired too soon. If you make it to the left coast, the best museum I've been to (of many) is the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinnville Oregon. The Seattle Museum of Flight is almost as good IMHO. That statement may start an argument!

Thanks DJ but if you haven’t seen the Pensacola Naval aviation museum since 1985 you would not recognize it it is absolutely gorgeous. Haven’t been to the Evergreen museum but I’ve been to Seattle’s Museum of flight and the Pensacola museum is a tad better (opinion) plus it’s all navy with some Air Force thrown in...😎😎...Cheers

I really want to get back to Pensacola. If you like airplanes, Evergreen is outstanding; the "Spruce Goose" is there in addition to a great collection. I have a soft spot for the Navy, but the USAF museum at WPAFB in Dayton is also one of the best.

You could almost eat off the floors they’re so polished and the prospective naval aviators to provide escorts...they’re waiting their class/seat assignments....not to mention it’s ALL self funded through donations.
