Why do some folks want to force their idea of a Prayer on every one else? Who buys the beads or the rugs that some need to pray? Who says what kind of prayer is going to be used? I prayed my own prayer to myself to God in school and have taught my children to do the same. Is the man that tells how you can touch women in private places if you have power going to lead the prayer? - Dave

We have tried psych meds counseling and nothing has worked.
Will it really hurt to give God a try.

You're in good company, Pelosi recently said she prays for Donald Trump.
Who's prayer is he promoting?
Which religion....Jewish, perhaps?

Pray to whom ever you want.
A moment of silence that would be a big help.

I haven't came up with a "NAME" for my religion...I do silently have a conversation...might be talking to something/someone other then myself.....might even be myself.... I just KNOW I have a right to do it.

Try telling this nonsense to the children molested by catholic priests. Did god help them? I don't think so.

Once again Trump is taking credit for "fixing" a non-problem. We do NOT hear more and more stories about teachers and/or students being restricted in prayer. Episodes of someone interfering with someone's right to pray are generally quickly resolved when he bureaucrats do their homework and actually talk with the school board attorneys.
The "right to pray in school" has been very well-litigated and has become boiled down into some very reasonable guidelines:
1. Students may pray or exercise their religious beliefs any time they would like as long as their prayer or exercise of religious belief does not interfere with the normal operation of the school.
2. Students may organize religious organizations along the same guidelines of other student organizations, may have regular meetings just as other student organizations do. As with other student organizations, a student organization focused on religion may have a faculty advisor - whose responsibility is to advice.
3. No one who is employed/sponsored/supported by the government is permitted to DIRECT students in prayer.
4. Students may not be coerced into prayer. (This is where a lot of problems pop up, like the football team praying on the field prior to the game. Usually lead by the coach, but even when that is stopped and the prayer is continued by team members, it puts coercive pressure onto members of the sports team to participate in prayers.
If you actually look at what the ACLU has done, you will find that they will go up against a school board if they think a student's rights to religious freedom are being denied. One such case involved a high school student who wanted to sing a religious song i the school's talent show - they told her that she couldn't, and the ACLU actually won her the right to sing the song of her choice.
"it puts coercive pressure onto members of the sports team to participate in prayers.".......BULLSHIT

Can't they do that now?
Take a moment and silently pray?
I don't understand what Trump is "allowing".
Pray to the American Flag that should be hanging in every classroom by starting each school day with the Pledge of Allegiance. Start with instilling a sense of patriotism and loyalty and the rest will take care of itself over time. One's religious beliefs whatever they may be...or even none, are part of one's social fabric. It is what makes up the salad of cultures however the one thing that we all have in common regardless of race, creed or religion is that we share the same nation in which we live.
