Trump held up congress approved funds for Ukraine's defense.

Trumps illegal acts have nothing to do with the Biden's.

"President Donald Trump’s White House violated federal law by withholding military aid to Ukraine, a top government watchdog announced on Thursday, dealing a blow to the administration’s case against impeachment as the Senate prepares to put Trump on trial.

The Government Accountability Office dismantled the White House Office of Management and Budget’s rationale for withholding the $214 million in congressionally appropriated security assistance, which Trump held up as he and his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, pressed the Ukrainian government to reopen investigations into Trump’s political rivals."

The Government Accountability Office is a legislative branch government agency that provides auditing, evaluation, and investigative services for the United States Congress. It is the supreme audit institution of the federal government of the United States.

Someone on Fox just reported that the GAO itself broke the law by missing the deadline for posting their audit.

In his case he would have been pointing to a probable crime having been and being committed.

So the illegal act was delaying foreign aid for 55 days. OK, does this fit the constitutional criteria of high crimes and misdemeanors?

Yes it is an abuse of power.

Alexander Hamilton dispensed of Trump’s impeachment defense in 1788

Yes.
It was withholding the money in order to force them to investigate that is at issue.

The "other" question is:
If Trump had asked them to investigate, with no conditions....would he still have been impeached.

What is it they could investigate that we couldn't?

Actually, I think the problem was the investigation was deemed to be for Trump personal/political/reelection reasons.

If it was just an investigation into alleged criminal activity, why couldn't we investigate that from our side?

Trump wasn't looking for a real investigation.
