I just got my eyes checked yesterday and the glaucoma checking device was made by Canon.
I had no idea what all they make but this is something that I would never have guessed.
PS, eyes are still perfect thankfully.

Canon and Nikon manufacture a lot of medical equipment.

Yes, just this particular item surprised me.
I believe Olympus also makes medical equipment.

Yes Olympus is big in medical optics.
Leica (Leitz), Olympus, Nikon, Canon. You might still see some Bausch and Lomb in some offices. Leitz made the device my doctor's staff uses to determine my prescription.
My doctor told me that he spends a boatload of cash each year to keep all his equipment properly calibrated.
With 40+ yrs in the "eye business" I was fortunate to have used Canon and Nikon for Ophthalmic photos. However I think Zeiss cameras were the best for images.

Got my eyes checked yesterday also. Saw some Zeiss optics at the clinic. My eyes are not fine—cataract surgery next month!

Was told that colors look different after cataract surgery as the yellowish cast caused by failing eyes will be gone. This means that any color correction done to images in photoshop prior to surgery may have been incorrect.

Yes, there's the possibility that color correction, pre-cataract surgery, may have some issues. Some of it depends on the type of cataracts you have, as not all have a yellowish cast to them.
I also had severe astigmatism before surgery, and the difference immediately after surgery was huge. I had astigmatic correction before surgery, but afterward the colors were just stunning.

Consumer cameras are a small part of what Canon manufacturers.
