Geotagger for Nikon Df

Hello all, and happy new year. I shoot with a Nikon Df. I am interested in Geotagging my photos as I focus on landscapes. The Nikon Geotagger is no longer available new, but KEH does have one. There are alternate ones on Amazon. Can anyone recommend one that works well with this camera?
Thank you,
Andy

If you have a smartphone look at Geotagger. Simple to use, inexpensive and a cross platformed application.

I've tried using a smartphone based app called GPS Tracks (which I learned about from this forum actually) but have found it to not be particularly accurate, or, rather, to seem to have spurious data. I say this because when I pair the GPX file to multiple images taken from the exact same location (in Lightroom) it will apply different coordinates to adjacent images.

So then I bought a Garmin eTrex 10, which I believe was made for hikers and geocachers and the like. Basically, I power it on and it starts logging location until I stop and save the track, which I then import to the computer using a USB cable connection. With this device I have not seen the same issue of a dozen images taken from a stationary tripod appearing to have 4 different locations a dozen yards or more apart from each other.

My point is, I don't know if the GPS chips in the smartphone (in my canse an iPhone 8) are less precise or if the app attempts to make use of cell towers as well as straight GPS satellite signals, but the outcome using the eTrex is far superior.

That is, if you are going to apply the GPS data after the fact, as opposed to the Nikon unit, which of course will insert it directly into the image file on the fly. On the other hand, from what i have read, those GPS dongles can be hell on battery life - this eTrex uses 2 AA batteries that last for days at a time.

Geotag Photos Pro 2 works well. You can tag with the desktop/laptop app either online or off-line. I use this and then can tag any of the images from 4 different cameras.

As I am on foot when I use this, I have it set to update location only one every 10 minutes so a day of shooting does not affect my iPhone battery.

I have had a geotagging accessory, and a Nikon D5300 which has GPS built in standard equipment. One big complaint about both of these. Why is it a phone and the GPS in the car need about 2 or 3 seconds to hook up to the satellites and find out where they are, but the camera and the accessory need a minute or 2 or 10? Frustrating. Location doesn't matter, same thing over and over. Car and phone are fine, camera is wondering and wondering where in the heck it is.

I use the following on my Nikon D810 and D7000. It also worked on the D800 that I don’t have anymore. It also works on my Fuji X-T3.

Thank you to all for your educated responses. Now, I have to figure out which system will work best.

Sorry... I misspoke about the X-T3. The X-T3 links with my smart phone.

Car and phone are always on whereas camera is powered off. It takes time to locate satellites especially if you have substantially changed location, e.g. east cost to midwest or west coast.
