WD-40 and Duct Tape I guess is the answer.
Unless you work in heavy industry. Then the WD-40 is replaced by a Victor wrench and duct tape with a Lincoln wrench.
Knew a few cowboys and farmers way back when. The one fix all item they all reached for was bailing wire. Amazing what can be done with that stuff. There was even a contest to see what could actually be done with it. I've seen a sturip made to replace one that got broken. I saw one fella make a briddle. It's been braided to fashion towing cables, fix rusted shock mounts. hold down hoods, keep truck doors closed and on and on. To this day, i still keep a roll the stuff handy.. with bailing wire,WD 40, and duct tape??? There is nothing you can't fix.
if duct tape doesn't fix it, you're not using enough duct tape
I'm sure there should be a 3rd path that leads to
a claw hammer.

Sure is, if nothing works, get a bigger hammer.

and a stick of dynamite... the speediest way to remove that stubborn tree stump.
The chunk that goes through the front wall of your neighbors house makes for
instant "Flow Through Ventilation" too.

It should have included 5 minute epoxy and a BIG hammer too.
