First of all, let's stop with the "your Democrats" business.
I agree with many things Democrats stand for and disagree with many things.....AS SHOULD ANY INTELLIGENT person do with ANY group they affiliate with.

I don't have the time/patience/vocabulary to conduit a discussion here where it's impossible to communicate the fine points that need to be made.
Unfortunately, I'm still working and I don't usually come here when I'm not at work.

So far, we deal in generalities and "when did you stop beating your wife" kinds of questions.

I'm happy for you, and anyone else, who is 100% always in agreement with whomever they affiliate with.

Generally, I enjoy the discussions here, sans the name calling etc.

IMHO, I don't believe our ports of entry are implementing the law in such a altruistic way.

If it were up to me AND I knew that no one would ever be hurt/killed by a gun....YES, I would take them away from everyone.
But, I DON'T know that, so that's not what I'm saying.
I'll be satisfied when they reach zero.

Tell me, with a straight face, that Conservatives aren't as intolerant of Liberals speech?
Trumps tweets don't seem to me to show a tolerance for Liberals speech.

Under other circumstances, I think you and I could have a great conversation...maybe not change each others views, but it could be a good conversation.

This medium doesn't promote that very well.
First of all, let's stop with the "your Democ... (show quote)

Chris first of all I can tell you with a very straight face that Conservatives are not as intolerant of Liberals speech. Conservatives are not in the news, not on YouTube, where you can see Antifa and other anti Conservative Liberals punching Conservatives in the face for speaking out. You have not and will not see Conservatives beating up someone for wearing a cap as you often see Liberals attack a person on the street simply for wearing a MAGA cap. You do not hear of or see Conservative restaurant owners throwing Liberals out on the street. You will see anti Conservatives standing right there in a restaurant provoking violence against the diners simply because they are having dinner in a restaurant owned by a Liberal. You have not seen Conservatives blocking traffic as you see Antifa doing.

Chris it is you who said you are a Democrat. Along those lines I have truthfully told you of things Democrats are doing, have done against Conservatives. If you don't believe me then I challenge you to look it up and prove me wrong. If you can see these things and still remain a proud Democrat then good for you and your happiness in being on the wrong side of history.

Right here in The Attic Democrats tell us every day that Trump's economy isn't really doing well. Of course economists tell us that the economy is the very best it has been since back in 1969. But you go ahead and believe the Democratic view, most of the people of course who are suffering from TDS. Trump has strengthened the military. If you don't believe that I am fine. As for Soleimani being taken out by President Trump's decision, you know as well as I do that if it had been Obama who had done the same thing the Left would be cheering. But since it was Trump and not Obama the Left has to put his accomplishment down so as not to allow Trump a win before the next election.

Our ports are not implementing the law in an altruistic way, you tell us. There are upwards of 3000 or more people at once flooding our ports of entry. There might be beds for 300 people. How altruistic can the staff members be. Already staff members are bringing in toys and clothing from their own homes to assist with the illegal aliens. Just how altruistic can they be. Do you really believe that Trump is keeping these people in cages while Obama did not? Trump did not build the cages but either Bush or Obama did. Where was your righteous indignation when Obama put these people in the very same cages? I don't recall your outcries of rage. Maybe I missed that.

As for having a good conversation I thought we were doing pretty well. What made you get angry? Was it me calling you a Democrat? You told me you were. I thought you would be proud of it. If you don't like what Democrats are doing then why go off on me? Why not see where they are lying to the American people and then go off on them?

I must apologize to you.

I am angry, with myself, for not being able to successfully articulate the things I want to say.

I don't think Democrats are lying, I think they're saying things that Republicans don't want to hear.
I'm not sure either party is tolerant of "the other guys" disagreeing with them...."all the time".

I understand that Conservatives are perfect and that Liberals are not. NOT!

I'd rather be someone who is continually questioning EVERYONE/EVERYTHING, than just sit back and accept what I'm fed.

BTW, that is NOT a specific comment on you.

Conversely, I don't think Republicans are lying, I think they're saying things that Democrats don't want to hear.

Do others here hold, what I understand to be, this opinion.

Democrats are the only one's who ever lie?

Yes, Angmo, we're ready for you snarky remark about lying Dems.

chrisscholbe, adult minds should realize that there will NEVER EVER be total agreement when it comes to matters of state. Afterall, it's almost impossible to get three friends to agree on where to have lunch!

Political discourse and disagreement are the freedoms that America affords us and for that we should all be thankful. However childish and negative producing name calling and hate are, that too is part of the freedoms provided to the citizens of this nation.

Spewing hate at someone as though they are the ones responsible for this or any other action of the government is crazy and borders on pathological. You, I or anyone else have only one chance to change what we don't like and that's on election day. Cast your vote to oust whomever you wish, that's the privilege granted to us. Realize that there will be times one's ideology will win and other times lose. When we lose we should dust ourselves off and get ready for the next round but don't hate thy neighbor because it didn't go your way for your day will surely come and his won't (not speaking to anyone specific of course).

My advice is to direct our frustrations (and happiness too) to your members of congress and senate. That's where you have the best chance of making a change for they FEAR losing your vote. Throwing rocks at a neighbor because they have a different political sign in their yard will change nothing but more discontent for as firm as your beliefs are they have the same passion about theirs.

There is a saying that goes, "United We Stand and Divided We Fall" and I believe that to more true in the polarized nation than ever before. Make the most of what you can, whenever you can and bitch out your congressman and senator every day and get other like minded folks to do the same and maybe...just maybe...there will be a change and plan on being one of the first in line on election day. I know I will be.

Well I'm sure that you can find any opinion under the sun here in the attic. It seems to me that Democrats, present company not accepted, seem to have very little issue with lying or anything else to accomplish their goals. They seem to have the belief that they are entitled to have their way no matter what conditions exist, the 2016 election is a good example. For 3 years they have been determined to un-do the election results regardless of legal standing.

I'm absolutely certain the NO REPUBLICAN was ever guilty of "lying or anything else to accomplish their goals".

I think I'm going to take a break for a while.

Have a nice life.

Chris there is no apology necessary. I mean that. Because we do not share the same opinions does not mean we cannot discuss the matters at hand.

I completely disagree with you about Democrats lying. I could give you a list and that would be added to by other Conservatives on the forum. But what we mind even more than the constant and consistent lying is the then coming hypocrisy from Democrats. I don't mean you personally either but Democrats do lie more than Conservatives do. Yes I know every Liberal here will be wanting to flog me verbally but I will stick to my opinion on that.

We hear day after day about Trump lying but compared to Obama's lies the Trump lies are just a bit of fibbing, more like bragging and showmanship than actually lying. You want lies then look no further than to Obama's constant lies regarding healthcare. Look no further than Adam Schiff telling America that he had positive proof that Trump was guilty of collusion with the Russians. But where is that proof now? Mueller who was the God to Democrats before the Mueller investigation into collusion is now dead meat all because he found out and published there was no collusion at all. The collusion as far as I am concerned was with Hilary Clinton and Obama knew all about it. Why else would Obama first tell Americans that the Russians were not trying to fix our elections and then when he admitted they were, did absolutely nothing about it. I can tell you why. He was still hoping that Hillary would win the election. Afterward there would have been no investigation into collusion at all because the chosen one, Hillary Clinton was supposed to win.

Take a look at Hillary's cheating along with Donna Brazille, the DNC and Debbie Wasserman Shultz. They all cheated. That is a fact my friend.

Nope. I truly believe in my heart that the Democrats under Harry Reid, Schumer, Pelosi and Obama represent the most corrupt time of corruption in American history. You may not see it, may not want to see it but it was there. I suggest opening your eyes.

Chris that is not exactly what he said. I don't think anyone would ever say that Republicans do not lie. Yes some do. But in my opinion no Republican can ever top the amount of lies from Democrats.

Chris. I don't think I worded my post to convey my meaning, I was attempting to exempt you from the people I was talking about. In my opinion, although I disagree with you much of the time, you are one of the few people who actually attempt to find both sides of an opinion and make sense out of it.

You can provide a list of Democrat lies.
I can provide a list of republican lies.

So what?

Whoever has the shortest list wins?

I think NOT.

Trump's lies aren't as bad a Obama's lies.....

NEITHER should be lying!

To mitigate Trump's lies by comparing them to Obama's is ..... disengenuous, at best.

You guys must be kidding. The head of the GOP (trump) has told more than 12,000 documented and provable lies since he took office. I challenge anyone to name a Democrat who has even come close.
