Old friend stated that she had many old film cameras. Asked if they had any value.
So, I'm here to ask
Any value in old film cameras? If yes, where is market?
Thanks for any help!!

Len, The answer is Yes and No. Old Leica cameras have great value. Old Kodak box cameras very little value.
A good source to see what they are selling for check out Ebay.com
Another source of info is KEH.com. Classics in confirmed working condition, as PixelStan77 noted, have value. But, mass market cameras will not. A few other examples, Canon AE1s are worth about $75. A Canon F1 is worth about $125. A Canon Rebel G can't be given away even if you pay the postage.

Any reason why you’re secretive about which cameras she has??
She asked over Christmas dinner. Didn't want to get into "nuts and bolts" at that time!!
When I get info, then back to her and then"nuts and bolts"!!

Old film cameras values depend on which cameras. So you have to list the models in order to tell you if they have any values.

You were very sensitive in your approach with her.

There are collectors out there who love and want all sorts of cameras. From rusted Russian knock-offs to nearly new Hasselblad film cameras. As to any big money in old film cameras. It all depends on a lot of factors. This is really not a vintage film camera site. More aging digital tech-heads here. Look for vintage or antique camera collector groups on the Web and on FaceBook. They can give you a better idea than eBay for collectibles. eBay and Amazon are OK for semi-vintage gear and more so lenses that can still be used with up to date digital cameras. This mainly pertains to Pentax and Nikon. Old Minolta, Olympus, and Canon lenses are mostly only good for mirrorless cameras, MILCs with adapters. Leica and Hasselblad are a different story, this stuff of any sort retains a good amount of value. Large and Medium format film cameras are a very different market as well. Again, best to ask people who actually use film cameras and not those that have passed on to digital exclusively. Good luck. What cameras and lenses do you have out of curiosity.

Wow, pretty accusatory. It sounds to me like he doesn’t know the specifics. I’d hate to go through life so paranoid.

Do you have any old CRT type computer monitors? Because those cameras might be worth slightly more.

It HUGELY depends upon exactly what film cameras.... Some have little to no value. Others have some modest value. Still others are very valuable!
The best market is eBay. Yes, it's a pain. But it reaches the widest audience.
You can get some idea of value searching eBay and clicking on "sold" to see any recent sales. You have to be very precise about searching for the exact model and have will need to carefully review the sold listings to see what accessories were included (or not), condition and any other factors that might effect value, such as free shipping.

That was inane and in the vein of your comeback to another unnecessary post here.
