I just purchased a used Nikon AF-S VR 70-200mm 2.8 G lens. The lens foot was not included with the lens. Apparently the seller lost it some how. I have looked on Google and have had no luck finding one. Does anybody have an idea where I might find one ? Maybe somewhere I might find a diagram with the part number on it ? I would really appreciate any help I could get from great folks on the forum.

Hopefully, the seller discounted the price by the $100+ it will take to replace the foot. The specs at the B&H listing states: Yes (detachable collar foot); has two 1/4-20" thread sockets.

I scanned Really Right Stuff, but didn't see a listing that called out this model. You might see it, if reading closer. You might call / email RRS and ask which of their feet is a candidate or intended specifically to replace this part.

I didn't see it the first time that they have a filter for Nikon lenses. They have some options, where it looks like for $100 you can have another detachable foot:

If you're talking about the (complete collar):

Kirk also makes one.

Kirk Enterprises lens foot for the Nikon AF-S VR 70-200mm 2.8 G is the way to go for that lens
https://www.kirkphoto.com/lens-plate-for-nikon-70-200mm-f-2-8-vr-vrii-afs-replacing-nikon-foot.html

Purchasing the original is a waste of money since you'll likely have to buy a Swiss Acrea Plate to place on it since that is the standard mount now...

btw, are you certain you actually need the foot?
I rarely ever use my Kirk Foot now... got use to hand holding the AF-S 200-500 f/5.6E ED IF VR which is considerably heavier... The only time I'd likely use the foot is shooting runway events at fashion shows using a monopod since they lend themselves to a somewhat static fixed position where what little movement occurs in a horizontal plane... And for field sports which likewise confine movement into a horizontal plane... anything that requires vertical movement you are looking at a gimbal mount... but with that lightweight lens just hand hold it, k?

Please try this first to see if you actually need to add to your initial investment... btw, that lens is awesome... love it, albeit it focus breaths pretty heavily... All the AF 80-200mm f/2.8 variants are true 200mm at that long end, not 135mm like the AF-S VR 70-200mm 2.8 G at portrait distance... however they lack VR so are best used in a studio or with speedlights to retain their incredible acuity...

Have an love both for what they bring to the image equation... so unique each in their own special way :)

Hope this helps and enjoy that fabulous optic!

He has an F2.8, not an F4. The KIrk or RRS is the correct part.

Is this what you are looking for---"foot for Nikon AF-S VR 70-200mm 2.8 G lens"?? If so, use this quotation to search for a foot on Yahoo (Ebay)!-- China makes them for abt. $25! Just trying to help!
